@looch: That makes me happy not to be in Europe. I live in t-shirts, they're so comfy! Obviously I don't have any good advice for you. Maybe a maxi dress? It's long so you won't show any skin if the wind picks up, and it's more dressy than shorts.

@looch: I agree! When I lived in London I basically retired all my summer clothing ... people don't wear shorts.

Hmmm, during the summer time I usually wear capri leggings and a casual shirt when I am with the LO.

For the pool, I haven't changed how I dress. But if you want to wear a rash guard plus board shorts, I don't think that is overkill.

Haha, last summer DS was too little to go outside and play and before that, I worked full time and I wore dresses in the summer. I bought a pair of bermudas last year out of desperation, but they're way too casual for Europe. You don't see people wearing shorts and it doesn't get that hot.

How did you go this long without wearing shorts and t-shirts? I thought that was common mommy clothes. I would just wear a regular suit and reapply the sunscreen. You can't cover up your entire body, so you'd be reapplying on your face and legs anyway. Do you have the kind that sprays? Helps things go much quicker!

@Crumbs: come to Florida. I'm in flip flops and a sundress and still sweat!

Now that our days include playing outside, I am finding that my usual outfits do not work. I need things that can be machine washed and dry fast. I also need things I can move in, so dainty skirts and dresses are out, because my son is a runner and I have to chase and lift him a lot. Footwear too, flip flops are out, I need a closed shoe that I could wear with little footie socks.

I am also looking for recs for pool wear, I was thinking a rash guard and board shorts for days when we're outside at the pool, but does it look "too much?" I can't be worried about sunscreen reapplication and body part exposure!

Help!
