We are those people that can't stand toys in our main living areas :silly: We have a small den/sun room right off of our family room that is our toy room. We also have a small toy basket in the corner of the dining room that houses mainly dress up clothes and is a catch all for cleaning up toys at the end of the day.

Basement! All of his big toys, playmats, etc. are all in one corner of the basement which does have a TV, but that's more for us than him.

He has a tent and a basket of toys in our great room on the main floor for when I am cooking/working/etc.

We love that most of his toys are in one central area and he loves playing in it when we're down there. He's too young to be down there by himself, but it's nice to have the future option.

Our playroom is actually the space that's meant to be the formal dining area. In our open floor plan it's the space between the kitchen and the living room. It looks like kidville from all angles in our main living area but we don't mind.. it won't be that way for long!! We don't need a formal dining area right now so it's a great place for the kids' toys to live since we can watch them playing from everywhere.

Our playroom is the family room in the back of the main floor. It works well for us. There is a tv.

We turned our formal living room into the playroom - its on the main floor. No TV

We also have a small play area in the basement for when I am exercising but its only been recently that I would let them down there alone - they are 3.5 and 6

Ours is on the main level, off the kitchen. It's actually a bedroom, but we took the door off and now we can see them as we are cooking.

Ours is on the main level, just to the side of the dining room and kitchen. I supposed it is a den or family room but we never used it until we made it into a playroom for LO. Now, we spend most of our time there!

Ours is right when you walk in off of the front hall way. It is supposed to be a formal parlor or study I think but no need for that. I don't love the location of it. But it's better than not having space at all. It has doors that we can close off it we need to. No TV in there now but we will put one in at some point I am sure.

We just moved over the summer and our new house has a room they called the "sunroom" (it's not really a sunroom it just has a lot of windows and a slider), that we turned into the playroom. It's fantastic. It's off the living room, which is adjacent to the kitchen. We keep all of DS' toys in there and I don't care how messy it is. DH wanted to use the finished basement, but DS is too little to play down there by himself. Maybe one day we'll reclaim the sunroom as adult space and he can have the basement. Oh, and no TV since he's still pretty little (10m). Maybe one day we'll put a tv in so he can watch movies/cartoon? IDK.

Our playroom is upstairs. We have toys downstairs, but they all fit in bins and baskets and are stored out of sight every night. Its nice because our living room is tidy and all the big toys (like the play kitchen) are upstairs.

Our playroom is on the main level of our home, however we keep toys in every room of the house. Even though our living room is next to the playroom, sometimes LO doesn't want to be in there by himself, so it's been helpful to have a small basket of toys next to our sectional. Dh is currently building a built-in in our 2nd floor loft to store his toys because it looked like someone threw up toys up there.

Right now our play room is in the sunroom, right off of our living room. Eventually, once we have another kid, we'll have to re-organize our house and move the play room down to the basement. By that time our older child should be old enough to easily handle a playroom on a different floor of the house. I'm not sure about logistics with a new baby though.

Our playroom is downstairs, and since DS is only 22 months, I always go down with him. It's inconvenient, but he also has a small play area on the main floor, so he can use that while I cook. It's not ideal, but it will work for now.

Oh, the upstairs toys all fit in one chest and a small basket, and we pick that up every night, so at least I feel like the mess is partly contained.

our play room is currently "the house" heh. Although a significant amount of E's toys is downstairs in the (finished) basement near where DH's video game and football watching area is. He is always taking her downstairs to play, then bringing her upstairs to change her or feed her. It isn't a big deal. My SIL's house has a play room downstairs, but the kids at 5 and 7 now. Eventually, I'd like to make it so mine can play downstairs, too.

We're re-finishing our basement and wanted to make one side a playroom. Currently we section off our living room and this is where they play. It's convenient but my house looks like a nursery threw up and we'd like our adult space back. I am having concerns about having the room on a separate floor than the main living space. I can't have them down there while I cook dinner, if they need a change of clothes I gotta get it from upstairs, etc. If your playroom is on another floor, do you love it? Hate it? Also, do you have a tv in yours?
