We never gave her any scraps after adopting her but after moving in with family for a brief period they spoiled her rotten whether we liked it or not. I would complain, but for the past few years we haven't done anything to change it and keep spoiling her. Totally backwards thinking, but I feel bad not giving handouts now. Friend tells mom every time they're together not to give her dogs table food. Her mom says "just because you don't feed them table food doesn't mean I can't". WTF? Yes, actually it does. My dad "doesn't notice" when she licks the crumbs from the table while we are still eating! It's really gross. But at least they aren't feeding my dog and teaching him his own bad habits.</p> <p>ETA: Oh- my dog does get human food sometimes, just not while we are sitting at the table and eating. I stand up and make him do a trick for it after dinner.
