We have our Britax Advocate that we use as our regular seat in my car. Our spare car seat is an Evenflo Tribute. I think we got it for $65 shipped on Amazon? It's safe and got good reviews. We keep this in our extra car and use it for travel.

I would get a Graco Size4Me65 for your car and a Cosco Scenera to leave in your SO's car or to stow in the trunk. Or size up in your car for now and use the infant seat in the back up car until LO actually outgrows it (5 inches can take a while!). Then reassess.

The Graco is about $150. My 7mo old is comfy in it, but I occasionally use it for my 2.5 year old if the baby is home with Daddy and I have an extra toddler on a playdate. My toddler is over 35 pounds and wears a size 4T, so the seat grows well. He says he thinks it's comfy.

I would probably get a seat for each car since I don't want to have to move a seat between cars (and if one of your suddenly had to do pick up, you'd still need a seat). I'd probably go with 1 nicer one and 1 more budget friendly one.

So a couple of suggestions
1. Joint car seats for the littles on Facebook. You can post your car(s) budget, stats of LO, needs in a car seat. They (certified techs and really knowledgable members) will give you specific advice.
2. Babies r us has their trade in event coming up. 25% off
3. The seats they typically reccomend are the chicco next fit, Britax click tights, Graco 4 ever and other similar gracos
4. You probably want two because you'll still end up with the problem if your SO needs to pick up LO from daycare. Maybe get a less expensive seat you could also use for travel if you ever fly? Cosco makes a good one that is inexpensive, safe and lightweight.

We have one that we move back and forth, but we only have one car. I would probably get one good seat and an okay one for the car that he rides in the least.

DH and I are on the market for a new carseat (or two...)

DS is nearly 7 months, 18 lbs and 27 inches. Our infant carseat goes up to 35 lbs and 32 inches. Based on his height, it appears that DS will probably surpass the height before the weight maximum. At this point, I do all daycare drop offs but, if something comes up and DH needs to pick him up, we are SOL. Our daycare also can't store his infant seat there due to California daycare laws (at least, that's what she said.)
So, we were thinking about getting a convertible carseat, especially since Target has some on sale for 30% off.
I would like to get something that will work well in the future and (possibly!) for another LO in a couple of years.
Anyway, do we get two? One nice one and one okay one for the car we use less? Get one and move it back and forth?
Any recommendations for a nice, but economical convertible carseat? I have no idea where to begin...

Also, sorry for all the unnecessary info, I just figured I would "throw it all out there." Thanks in advance!
