I left my LO at 2.5 months old because silly me told my sister months before LO was even born that she could have her over night for our anniversary. She took her for two nights. It was really hard but I really enjoyed time with my DH. Would I want her to leave me all the time like that? Heck no!

@runsyellowlites: I actually just had to leave her for the day on Sunday because DH and I both were sick so my parents took her. And I cried about it :( Obviously it was good for everyone for LO to be with my parents. DH and I needed our rest, my parents and LO had a blast. I just really hate being away from her.

See if you can leave her for the day or afternoon first. Going for a few hours will be easier to deal with than all night & you'll be able to prepare. Maybe plan a spa day to get ready for your date night? Things to keep you busy but allow you to relax & enjoy you time.

Ultimately you just have to remind yourself that she'll be okay & this night away is a much needed getaway. :)

LO is 17 months old and I still haven't left her overnight yet. DH has been bugging me about this for awhile so I told him for our chanukah gift for each other we'll get a hotel room for one night and have a date night and leave LO with my mom. This was decided months ago..... and the night is coming up this weekend.

I thought I'd be fine with it but I'm not. I trust my mom with LO, that's not the issue at all. I'm a SAHM so I'm rarely away from her. Also, the recent school shooting obviously got to me and made this very bad timing.

I'm not going to back out, I know that I have to leave her sometime for the sake of our marriage. I just really hope that I can have a good time and not be all mopey and sad the whole time.

Any tips?
