I certainly would! Your 16 month old is going to want to walk all the time one of these days, and you may just want a single. Tell your brother in law to mind his business.

Wow that is super annoying! I agree with other posters that you might still want to use them for various reasons.

@ms.janedoe: They haven't said anything too bad...just oh, I don't see why you would still need it after baby 2 is born or they passively complain about gear cost, etc. Still annoys me!

@shopaholic: yeah, I have never mentioned getting rid of them...they probably assume I will just replace everything with a double model! :-(

I pretty much agree with everyone, the fact that they're not only ASKING, but going so far as to (from what it sounds like) give you a hard time about it? No. Aaaabsolutely not. Just because of that, even IF I WERE in your position and going to get rid of a stroller/the strollers, I would sell them elsewhere just to prove a point (but I'm also kind of a betch about stuff like that...;) ). Keep 'em until you're positive you don't need them.

Ditto what @Thehistoryofus: said! People are like vultures man! Those strollers are pricey! No doubt they want first dibs! But you haven't even said you were going to get rid of them right? I would definitely keep the single strollers. You never know if you'll want to go out for errands or jogging, etc. with just one LO while DH stays with the other! You might both be fine with pushing single strollers. Our cousin with twins will often split up on the weekends to do errands and each takes one kid for manageability so I think a single stroller is still nice to have.
And you could make $ back to help with the cost of a new double stroller if that is the route you are going. I find it quite rude how your BIL is behaving.

I'm upset people are hassling you when you have a LO and another one on the way! It's called borrowing, you never promised so its pretty ride that he's upset.

Definitely do not lend anything out unless you are sure you don't need it. You might end up liking baby wearing with #2 and an use the BOB or G-Luxe.

Keep them! Sometimes one child doesn't want to be in the stroller so the single is good. Definitely invest in a good front carrier, I didn't baby wear much with my first but I had to with my second, there was no other option at times!

oh I think you will definitely use them again -- if not when LO#2 is born, then definitely later when LO#1 is older and not needing stroller time anymore. And for sure there will be times when you or someone else goes out with just one LO at a time! :) those are both awesome and expensive strollers, keep them for now!!!

Wow that is kinda rude IMO. I mean, are they offering to buy them from you?

I would just tell them IF you get rid of the strollers, you will need to sell them (at a fair price) to help offset the cost you will incur to replace them.

I agree with holding on to the stuff until you get a handle on what you need (assuming you have storage).

What about when LO#1 gets big enough to ride a bike, maybe you will want to put LO#2 in the BOB?

What about when LO#2 is too big to ride in a stroller/wants to walk and you just need a nice umbrella for the mall/etc? I know lots of parents that even though they have 2 kids just bring a single stroller and hope that one kid walks or one kid is carried and they take turns riding.

@plaidpants: Yeah, I've had several inquiries about the BOB and Uppababy! :-) They all want dibs and want to pick up the strollers as soon as the new baby is born!

I don't have any advice, but I just wanted to say that I can't believe people are giving you a hard time about not lending out your baby stuff. Especially since you have another LO on the way! I would be so annoyed!

I would absolutely wait until after the baby is here before you give or loan anything out!! We got our UppaBaby Vista early on because we knew it could accommodate 2 kids and we're glad it's our one and only stroller, but if I had the single stroller options like you, I would hang on to everything until I had my perfect stroller configuration that would work in every instance, THEN get rid of the other strollers. You never know what you'll prefer with baby #2. I never EVER used my ergo with WJ, and now LMW is in it at least once a week when we're out with everyone. WJ really loves both the rumble seat and the piggyback board on our Vista, but what if he hated them? You don't know how the kids will react so better to keep all options at hand!!

I wouldn't loan them out/give away until you're sure you won't need them! If you can get away w/babywearing the little one and pushing the other one, you could potentially put off the double stroller for awhile. Unless BIL is willing to immediately return what he borrows when you ask for it/buy you a new one if it gets damaged or worn, he is way out of line to get upset.

I live in the suburbs and I wasn't a huge fan of babywearing with LO but I will try to do it more when my next baby arrives. My LO will be 16 months old when her little sister is born. We plan on keeping LO in daycare either FT or PT while I'm on maternity leave.

Right now, I have a BOB jogger, Uppababy G-Luxe umbrella stroller and a Chicco Keyfit Caddy stroller frame that works with our Chicco infant car seat. We are considering a double stroller or a stroller with an option for a second seat but we will probably wait until the baby is born.

My friends and family have been asking for my strollers...I dunno if I should let them have them or just wait because I might need them? I figure we will still need the single strollers because one parent might take out just LO or just the newborn? My BIL seems pretty upset that I won't let them borrow stuff....I just don't want to rebuy gear later!

If you had two kids that both needed to ride in a stroller...did you keep any single style strollers around?
