Oh and it took a few more weeks before se would roll during playtime, now she does it all the time to reach a toy or whatever. Still almost never rolls into her back though.

@lawbee11: it was less than a week that it was a problem. First we would flip her back, then hold her down until she fell asleep (that sounds terrible- hold her down-- but you know what I mean!). Then we started going in slower and sometimes she would fall asleep on her tummy and actually I think she would sleep longer that way- like she wouldn't wake up up as much during the sleep cycle shift. By about a week later she was a tummy sleeper. We put her down on her back and sometimes she is over before we close the door.

But yeah... That week was not fun.

@Foodnerd81: How long before this got better for you? M's been rolling onto her belly for the last few days. I go flip her then she's back on her belly before I am even downstairs. Uhhh hello...if you hate it so much stop doing it! She's fallen asleep on her belly a couple of times but wakes during her transition and cries. Ugh. She also doesn't roll during playtime...only in her crib. Did C start rolling outside the crib yet?

@Cherrybee: you know she still hasn't rolled into her belly while we are playing. I've seen her do it in the monitor, and once while I was still in the room putting her to sleep, but never on her play may. Meanwhile, I have seen her roll from tummy to back while playing, but she won't do it inthe crib. Makes no sense.

@Cherrybee: ugh. I'm sorry. I guess I'd rather her rolling than sick. I hate when you can't just make them feel all better. Poor e. And poor you.

@scg00387: she loves scooting herself around to settle herself so I feel like the rolled towel would just annoy her. I finally decided to just hold her for the nap, so put her back in the crib, left to get my phone, she cried for like ten seconds and finally slept for an hour and a half. She has a knack for bringing me right to the edge then doing what I wanted in the first place.

@Foodnerd81: yep once she can roll back I bet she'll like to and sleep better on her tummy! Sorry but its always something :) crawling then walking etc. I don't think she is old enough to connect between rolling and you coming in; could you use a rolled blanket or something under the sheet to help wedge her?

@jedeve: Yeah, occasionally she will roll over and fall asleep, and she does stay asleep longer. but 9 times out of 10, she rolls over and really yells. I feel like once she remembers how to roll tummy to back (which she has done, but can't seem to put it together in her crib) she might be happier sleeping on her tummy but now she is upset because she is stuck.

God help me when she starts crawling.

We had a rough week with that too. Then he decided he liked sleeping on his tummy.

Just when I thought we were finally in a good place with sleeping, of course, C is switching things up again. We sleep trained a couple of weeks ago, first for bedtime, then for naps. For the last week or two, she was going to sleep so great-- we do our routine, lay her down, say good night, and she would move around and fuss for a few minutes then go to sleep. Sure, I'd rather not have her waking up twice a night and naps could be longer, but she was putting herself to sleep, our biggest hurdle.

Well, this week she started rolling onto her tummy, getting stuck, and freaking out. So then DH or I have to go back in there and roll her back and resettle her. Repeat. She actually has rolled onto her tummy and fallen asleep and slept for a long time but usually she just freaks out. Also if she wakes up a little bit between sleep cycles, she's rolling over and again, freaking out.

So, she has taken two naps today for less than 40 minutes each. She's been in her crib for this one for 45 minutes, just when she seems close to settling, rolls over, cries. I've been in there 4 times already I think and she just rolled over again.

I'm so tired. How do I help her resettle herself? We aren't opposed to CIO but it seems unfair to leave her on her stomach, but at this point I think we are teaching her that if you roll onto your tummy, mom or dad come in.

Please help. This has been going on for about a week now and getting significantly worse, not better. I'm off to flip her back over...
