@runnerd: so scary!! You know this happened to me last week and it sucks. I've been on bedrest and was prescribed progesterone. Bleeding while pregnant is the worst. Try to take it easy!!!

@T.H.O.U.: @autumnleaves: thanks ladies. had ultrasound yesterday and baby was perfect, measured perfect, etc. No sign of cause bleeding!!!! And I'm 14 weeks today.

I didn't see on-call doctor, just nurse who relayed report, and just got the "has nothing to do with your pregnancy, sometimes you just bleed" line. Ugh, and I am continuing to bleed today, though not as bad. it's super frustrating. I start to feel like a drama queen!! But trust me, I'm no stranger to bleeding in pregnancy so I only call when it's dramatic.

As a side note, I had an SCH with my last pregnancy, which was with my rainbow baby. He's a happy, chunky 5m old today. FX that this is your last bleed and that everything is alright.

Everyone's thoughts were so helpful last week! I so appreciated them! I managed to make it to Monday's appt where I heard the heartbeat on Doppler. I will be 14 weeks tomorrow, so started feeling much better, and we announced to the world Mon. OF COURSE, I wake up in the middle of the night tonigh to a gush of blood. I've been laying here wide a wake for nearly 2 hours, and just had a second gush of blood. I am counting down to when the OB office opens.

I'm trying to stay calm, this is so so similar to when I bleed at 13.5 weeks with LO #1, and got diagnosed with SCH.

I just want an easy non-complicated pregnancy!

@runnerd: well congrats on your pregnancy! I also had early bleeding like you and the doctors didn't know why. I chalked it up to just over-doing it. I laid low for a week, no exercise, and it stopped and never returned. Dr. Checked everything and we never found out why. I'm now 22wks abs everything is going great. I know it's easier said than done but try not to worry. Modify your exercise until you feel 100%. Good luck!! I'm sure everything is just fine

First, congrats! I didn't know you were pregnant. :)

Second, these things happen. My cousin had some extremely heavy bleeding with her second pregnancy that she thought was a miscarriage around 15 or 16 weeks. She went in and it turns out she had some kind of large blood clot (maybe not exactly what it was, but something similar) in her uterus next to her baby and part of it had come out. She had to take it very easy for a while and they kept an eye on it. It got bigger for a while then finally started getting smaller. Her daughter is now 5 months old and perfect :) I wonder if you had something similar but smaller so it just came out already?

Can you call the nurse advice line and ask to come in today or tomorrow just to hear the heartbeat? I had a spotting incident at 16 weeks, and when I called, they had me come in just to see a nurse and hear the heartbeat. Did wonders for my peace of mind.

Hang in there! It will get easier. I bled heavily for one day early in my pregnancy (5w) after suffering a m/c at 6w2d the time before. I freaked out, cried, begged & prayed I wasn't losing that pregnancy, too. Today I'm watching my beautiful baby girl bounce in her activity center. Bleeding IS super scary, but it doesn't always mean something is wrong. :goodluck:

I totally feel ya! We had a loss before DS, then a miscarriage earlier this year, and now pregnant with DD! You're out of the 1st trimester at least so put some stock in that!

How do you feel about an at-home doppler? I thought about getting one so many times with this pregnancy because of the same fears you have.

@runnerd: I am so so so sorry. It is just so terrible to deal with. Did they bring up the possibility of a SCH? When I bled in pregnancy #3 after my prior 2 losses, I lost it but having that diagnoses actually helped a bit.

Also, my OB was really good early on about letting me come in more frequently.

Thank you ladies - I would gladly welcome your dopplers to my home if we were neighbors :) @Ash: @catomd00:

I decided to put a call into my OB's nurse. One of manufactured fears is that the placenta didn't attach properly and that's why I bled. No one has said anything about my placenta, but I had a small abruption w/DS so I guess that's where I came up with that. I'm hoping she can tell me they did check the placenta during the last ultrasound.

Hugs. I'm right here with you. Still incognito b/c I'm so nervous about losing current 7w pregnancy. Had my son with no prior MCs. Had an early loss then an ectopic before conceiving this time. I have lots of pregnancy symptoms, had good betas, and even saw and heard the heartbeat already. Yet I'm still so so nervous that this isn't real. I also used to get really anxious in the few days leading up to each appointment with my son. No real advice about overcoming that, but just wanted you to know you're not alone.

You've got a major thing going for you: you're already 13w! Out of the highest risk of MC. One day at a time. And lots of distractions.
