@locavore_mama: what you can do is after you get the Rx, place an online order for the same purifier, then cancel immediately after you print out the order confirmation, or before they ship. Then use the later order confirmation showing the payment to submit for reimbursement.

@locavore_mama: no, according to my FSA company, the order has to be dated after the Rx

@Myicitygirl: oh, interesting. Will it still work if my order is dated before the prescription?

If you get a prescription for a HEPA purifier, then you can use flex spend dollars. That is what we did, and we got reimbursed for the expensive purifiers (think $760 for Blueair, $550 for rabbit air) and a year's supply of replacement filters.

Just make sure the prescription says 2 or 3 HEPA purifiers if you plan to buy more than one

We have the rabbit air for our living room and Blueair for our carpeted bedroom. The Blueair is amazing. When we lived in Manhattan, our apt overlooked a street that fed into the midtown tunnel, so we had a real problem with exhaust and dust. The Blueair worked so well that my husband immediately felt relief from his dust allergies. Replacement filters get expensive

I've been sick for almost two weeks. Although I feel virtually better I have a lingering cough that won't quit. I am 90% convinced it's an allergy cough.

So we're in the market for a air purifier for our bedroom.

Do you have one you love and recommend?
