@autumn865: We're going through this now too. My DD is 4 months and has been sleeping like a champ this whole time. But for the last few nights, she's been waking up 2-3 times a night. Previously, she was sleeping through the night. But I'm not too concerned about it because my son did the exact same thing. I just figure it's part of development. He was like this for about a month and then started STTN again. I agree with PPs with continuing the sleep routine and putting down drowsy but awake. Such is life with an infant.... sigh

@London Mama: Tell me about it! I have been trying to avoid caffeine just in case that is playing a part in her not sleeping well but I think I might have to have some coffee for my own sanity!

@Bao: nine hours would be heavenly!

That's what happened to us and hopefully it won't be as bad for you but DS is only just getting better and he turned 5 months yesterday. Caffeine and sugar are my new best friends.

We JUST (or maybe still are), going through this, DD is 3 months and a week old...last night for the first time she all the sudden went to bed without a fight and slept NINE hours, ate, fell right back asleep for another 4 hours...it will get better! I felt like it lasted a good few weeks but maybe it just felt worse than it actually was. Hang in there momma it will be over soon!

@Mrs. Bee: she actually recently has become very very distractable while nursing so she is definaly more aware

.@BabyBoecksMom: interestingly she almost rolled back to belly the other day...

Sounds like it :-( It's tough, but just know that it will pass. Like @Mrs. Bee said, make sure to keep your routine strong and that will help once the regression has passed.

Has your LO hit any new milestones recently?

sounds like the 4 month sleep regression. at that age they are much more aware of their surroundings and aren't a sleepy newborn anymore.

it helps to have a very strong routine, and start moving bedtime earlier. also the best thing you can do is put your lo in the crib awake. all this is nothing new because it really works!

My DD is almost 15 weeks old and her sleep has gone down the toilet. Previously she was sleeping a long five hour span and then some little spans but consistently going to sleep from 10pm to 9am with two wakings. Now she only sleeps in 1 to 2 hour intervals going to bed anywhere between 9 and 11 and waking up between 7 and 9. When she is sleeping she is kicking and thrashing about. I don't think this is a growth spurt because her eating throughout the day and night has remained the same as well as her naps. Things have steadily becoming worse through out the last week. HELP!
