I was 38+4, so not overdue, but I went to lunch with girlfriends, and told them nothing at all was happening. Took my nephew to soccer practice, and told both sisters that aside from annoying back cramps, nothing was happening. Went to dh's softball game around 7p, told his coworkers nothing was happening. Had my first real contraction at 9p, and DD arrived at 9a the next morning! Had no idea before!

My due date was on a Sunday. I worked from home til the following Friday. Still no baby. I was going crazy!

I saw my OB twice per week. I had two late term ultrasounds. She kept asking me to pick an induction date, and I kept stalling. My due date was based on LMP, and based on my ovulation date I believed it should have been two days later. I was determined to fight for those two days if necessary.

I ate Indian food. I went on walks during an icy February. I had sex even though I had no sex drive. I asked about having my membranes swept even though I hated the idea. (My OB said no because it doesn't work.). The only thing I didn't try was castor oil because it sounded too disgusting (both the oil and the aftermath). Everyone kept suggesting acupuncture. I was skeptical, but I finally made a 4pm appointment on Tuesday, 41+2.

At 10pm, five hours after I left the appointment, while I was binge-watching Breaking Bad with my husband, my water broke. It was a slow trickle. We went to bed around 11 or 12 knowing that I had about 24 hours for spontaneous labor to start. Otherwise I would need an induction because my water had broken already.

At 2am on 41+3, the first contraction hit hard (because my water had already broken). By 7am my OB said she'd meet us at hospital. We got there around 9 or 10, and I was at 3.

By early afternoon, after a few hours in the tub, I was at 7. By 5pm they thought I was fully dilated. Two hours later I still could not push. So I got an epidural. Turns out there was still a lip on my cervix. It was still there a few hours later so they gave me some pitocin. I pushed the baby out at 12:57am on 41+3.

He was TEN DAYS LATE! I got the birth I wanted. Be patient and let your baby decide when the time is right. It's worth it (as long as there is no risk to the baby).

I was a week overdue and remember lying in bed at around 0530 in the morning and feeling / hearing a "pop" then thinking "well that was kind of painful" and realising it was my waters breaking. Irregular contractions started immediately, by 1030 I was in active labour and by 2000 I was 5cm dilated. Unfortunately labour stalled later in the night and even with an epidural and syntocinin (same as Pitocin) I wasn't fully dilated till 1200 the next day. Baby finally arrived 2.5 hours later!

I wasn't overdue, but I decided to wrap up work a week before my due date to tie up loose ends and relax before baby. I finished the nursery the first day, got a pedicure/wax and hair cut the follow afternoon, and decided to prep some more freezer food and finish up laundry in the evening.

I never had so much as a Braxton Hicks my entire pregnancy so figured I still had a long way to go, but as I bent over to pick my husband's dirty socks off the floor.... sploosh.

Called the hospital and was told to come in right away and if things didn't get moving they'd induce me in the morning. LO was born 10 hours later.

I've never had a contraction outside a hospital. If/when there's a second baby, I'm probably going to freak the heck out if I labour at home for a while!

Never had ANY signs or symptoms of impending labor. Was home all day on New Years day (39+5) doing lots of house stuff and taking down Christmas decorations and didn't feel anything weird at all. At 11:45PM my water broke and baby girl was born at 6:37AM. There's definitely hope! :) Thinking of you!

Went to drop DS off at daycare, went to work, threw my baby shower that day, picked up DS, unloaded a ton of gifts from car, made spaghetti, not a sign at all of impending labor. Put DS to bed, read a book, paid some bills, tried going to bed, tossed and turns. Had a contraction, followed more nonstop ones, delivered 20 minutes later (or less.)

At my 40w2d appointment I was not dilated at all, and we were talking induction at 41 weeks. Contractions woke me up in the middle of the night at 40w5d, doctor's appointment that afternoon I was 2-3cm. Went to the hospital at 8pm and was 4cm and in active labor.
Baby was born 24 hours later via csection, but it was due to her position (labor stalled b/c she was stuck).
