@Alivoo01: thank you!

I forgot to update. They did come back out and clear the line again for free. I have one more free clean out within 6 months of the first, so I'm happy.

They did, however, try to sell me on a big project to put an access pipe in the front yard to clear out the roots they found. The quote was over $5K! That will probably happen...never!

@macintosh: Yikes! Hoping they're honorable and stick by their warranty claims! That's a lot of money!

i find these kinds of house issues stressful as well. i just called a plumber this morning to come look at a leak that i suspect is from our dishwasher. and while i'm hoping for an easy fix, i'm nervous, particularly about the wood floors in front of the dishwasher that seem to have water damage...sigh...that's going to be the $$$ part...

@macintosh: oh man. That's rough. Our yard is fenced in so I at least had privacy. Your pee may freeze on the way down but after this winter 21 degrees sounds bizarrely Ok. Though I guess you said a high of 21. That does not sound ok. It's March now, it's time for winter to peace out and let you pee in peace.

@Maysprout: OMG I'm cracking up imagining peeing in my backyard! Not only is it a pretty wide open space, but the high tomorrow is 21 degrees :silly:

@macintosh: I am so sorry you are dealing with this. I grew up in an older, fixer upper home and every year there was an issue that needed to be fixed or replaced. It was so stressful to witness the adults being stressed out! Hope it gets resolved for good at no additional costs at this point.

I'm sorry that sucks. We've been dealing with a few plumbing, though thankfully not sewer (knock on wood), issues as well. Everytime I hear water fill or drain I listen and think something's wrong. Do you have a backyard to pee outside? We had to shut the water off a couple times and I took advantage of our backyard

@reverie: I'm glad you had a good experience with their warranty. They actually just routed out the line with the machine last time, they didn't replace anything, I hope they can ensure that the crawlspace doesn't get backed up in the future cause that sucked! Also, they pull the toilet to access the sewer line, which means this pregnant lady will be going to Target or Walgreens to pee.

I had unfortunate plumbing issues a few years ago that resulted in having the whole pipe structure to the street redone (and my basement filling with shit 3 times). It was the most stress I had ever been under and I'm sorry to hear you're dealing with it too :( Rotorooter did come back out once for an issue and it was honored without crap (but I had given them like 6k at that point so I'm sure I was their favorite person).

Hopefully they can just replace one pipe or something!

Argh! I'm so stressed out right now because I have a plumbing problem that I thought was resolved, but it's flaring up again.

Last month my whole main sewer line backed up. Sewage was backing up into the toilet, the bathtub, and the utility room sink. I had Roto Rooter come out and they charged over $500 and took 4 hours to route out the clog. I had to borrow the $ from my mom.

I then discovered that sewage had leaked in my crawlspace as well. My mom had to pay another company $900 to clean that up.

So then everything was find for about 3 weeks, then tonight while the washer was running my tub started filling up with sewage, again!

I went down to check the crawlspace (really fun at 30 weeks pregnant) and there was smelly water dripping from the same pipe as before.

I have Roto Rooter coming back tomorrow because they offered a guarantee in their work, but I'm so nervous they will find some loophole to not honor it. I'm so stressed out I don't know how I'm going to get to sleep :sad:
