The photos are great quality, it shoots really well in low light, and it's much more compact than a DSLR (which I know I would never carry around with me). With the Sony I can (and do) stick it in even a small purse and always have it with me. Do some research on photography with phones and there are settings and tricks to get good photos nearly all the time with a phone. </p> <p>To get a point and shoot that's going to be considerably better then a phone camera you're going to spend atleast 200+ and you can get entry level DSLRs around 400. If you're handy with DSLR settings, you can achieve that with this camera as well. We just bought the Sony A6000 and I love it. It's super light and easy to use. Not sure what your budget is, but Best Buy is running a deal for the camera and 2 lenses for 699. We both primarily use our iPhones these days but recognize that the print quality is not the greatest with the iPhone.</p> <p>Any recommendations? Looking for something that would allow us to have better print quality (nothing larger than an 8x10 probably) and for photo calendars/books etc. Thoughts on whether it is worth it or not. I know a DSLR would not be fully utilized. </p>
