You can learn to shoot in manual modes (if you want) or you can just shoot in automatic mode. We went with the Canon s100. It's described as the worlds best pocket camera. It's amazing, and I think within your price range. The photo and video quality is great. I don't know all that much about photography but I do take a lot of pictures of LO and we do go on some fun trips so it's nice to have decent pictures. </p> <p>Anyone have any camera recommendations or opinions on point and shoot vs the slightly fancier cameras. I'd probably get last years model if I went the fancier route to cut down on costs, I really don't want to spend more than $350 and to spend $350 it'd really have to be worth it. </p>
