He has no delays or anything. I remember googling it and seeing that the first few years kids are walking their achilles can be tight so it makes it uncomfortable at times to walk flat footed. He’s almost three now and mostly has grown out of it. He is likely on the spectrum though we are waiting for additional evaluation. Two of my adult friends told me they toe walked until age 7/8 and grew out of it. But it was no big deal. We know now that she was just doing it for fun. If it's in a kid under age 5 or 6 and sporadic, I wouldn't worry. Over age 5 would warrant a doctors visit to be checked and maybe refer to a Physio. It was frequent but not exclusive. He did it for a while and he eventually outgrew it.<br /> We occasionally asked if he could walk flat on his feet and he eventually just stopped the toe walking. </p> <p>If it comes on suddenly though I’d go to doc. Doesn’t mean anything life threatening but it did indicate an illness when he started doing it again out of the blue. He had a virus and it basically caused muscle stiffness and pain called myositis. And for whatever reason toe waking alleviates the pain.
