@ellewoods84: I know this is four years old, found it by googling. Anyway, I’m in the same boat right now. Did your LO ever stop doing this?

@ellewoods84: My LO was like this and even pooped overnight until she was 8-9 months old. She grew out of it at some point, but even to this day, she sometimes poops in the crib when I first put her down for a nap.

I just change her and put her back in the crib and she still sleeps her full nap. It was much more annoying when she was younger and had smaller catnaps.

Our babe wakes up from EVERY SINGLE sleep session with poop. I think she'd sleep through the night if it wasn't for poop. Following this thread!

I am shamelessly bumping this....sorry! But, poops have ruined at least 1 nap a day since I posted this. Today, it ruined 2. Its ruining my life. No, just kidding, that is very dramatic, but why why why. haha. For nap 2, she pooped 40 minutes in and woke up. Of course she won't go back to sleep after that. I had to offer nap 3 since she took such short nap and she never fell asleep. I go in, lo and behold, POOP. HELP. Has anyone else dealt with this and have a solution??

@twodoghouse: ahhh glad O babes isn't the only crib pooper. It's getting annoying! We nap trained I guess almost a month ago? And this is a new thing. Like I said its so hard to judge if she's pooping or just protesting nap time. But If she doesn't poop she usually doesn't crawl around/stand/etc she just goes to sleep. So I guess from now on I will give her 10 minutes, go in, smell her, change her, and back into crib like you. I don't want her to think if she poops she gets out of the nap! She has never pooped during nap or bed until we nap trained. Really. Sigh. Thanks for the advice!
@Mae: lol at the bouncer! I will have to try it because I'm sick of short naps ending with poop!

@Mae: Oh good tip! We do this before bed if they had solids and haven't pooped since. Jumping always works! (Warning: change her ASAP once she poops or she might bounce the poop straight up her back.)

Oh baby O, giving your mom such issues! lol

Fiona went through a phase where she was doing this and it was driving me up the wall. It was a little easier for us though because that was when I was still rocking her to sleep so I'd just change her then start the rocking process over again. Now if she doesn't poop before her first nap there is a 50% chance she'll wake up after 30 min of napping and poop and be done.

Our main strategy is to try to bounce the poop out lol. If she hasn't pooped in the first hour she has been awake we put her in her jumper. For some reason she is most likely to poop in there, so that will often work.

Alice is a crib pooper! Ok at first I thought it was funny because she kept doing it like clockwork as I'd put Blake down, then I'd grab her for naptime and she would have pooped! She would smile at me SO BIG like she knew it was the golden ticket out of her crib. But then it got annoying because I was trying to nap train and she's ruin it every time with pooping. I think it's that she likes to poop standing up, so I'd put her in the crib, she'd stand up to watch me nurse Blake and then poop. Now that nap training is mostly a success she's stopped doing it because she doesn't pull up in her crib anymore, just rolls over to go to sleep. I just sort of had to wait it out until it stopped. Generally I also treated it as ok you get a diaper change then right back into the crib for the rest of your nap. I have instituted "you're in your crib for this hour" nap time, so if she poops she doesn't get a reprieve from the nap, just a diaper change then back in for the rest of the hour.

Okay, ever since we got O to start napping in the crib, poop is literally ruining every single nap. She either poops while falling asleep, so she doesn't fall asleep or she wakes up at the end of a sleep cycle, poops, and is then awake after only 30 minutes of nap. She is 8 months old and has been on solids for a good 1.5 months. I offer solids well before nap (1-1.5 hours) so she can attempt to poop, but the crib is like her toilet or something. It's getting really old. Her first nap has taken 30 plus minutes because I can never tell if she's fussing because she doesn't want to sleep or if she's fussing because she pooped. I went in and of course SHE POOPED. Ugh! Any advice?? Anyone else experience this?
Oh edited to add.....she was constipated the other day and we had an awesome nap day, like 1.5 hrs for every nap and she went down in like 5 minutes. Soooo I know she's tired and the times I am offering sleep!
