@Alba4: I would say if he's completely pee trained then get rid of the pull ups so he doesn't have that option.

My son (almost 3) is completely pee trained during the day as well. He still sometimes throws a fit about going, but he rarely has accidents. He still naps and is nowhere near ready to ditch diapers at night or naptime.

He refuses to poop on the potty (although he has gone 3 times in the past week). We do not force it at all. He usually poops in his diaper after he wakes up in the morning and sometimes after nap. If he's not wearing a diaper he will ask for one. We usually try to get him to poop on the potty, but he usually refuses. If he says no, we put him in a diaper to poop. I know not everyone likes this way, but I've heard several horror stories about kids holding it and refusing to go and then having poop and constipation issues for a while. I know he will go when he's ready, and he's already started being more willing (he's been trained about 6 months). So I guess if you were open to it, offer a him a diaper/pull up if he has to poop and tell him to ask for it when he needs to go. He will start to understand what it feels like when he needs to go and communicate that to you. Then you can work on trying to get him to poop on the potty (we had our son pick out a special treat and he gets 2-3 for pooping on the potty). Also, we know our son's poop cues (he hides in specific places & asks if he's wearing a diaper) so we always ask if he wants to go on the potty when/if we see that happening. My son has pooped in undies once...and it was our fault.l since we were at a wedding and distracted. But he definitely knows the difference and doesn't poop in underwear.

He only wears pull ups at nap and night time. To tell you the truth, I think it's s control issue. He can control when he goes. He just doesn't want to or is scared of pooping on the potty.

@Alba4: someone mentioned on another thread putting kids on the potty right after every meal. Also, does he have the chance to wear the pull up every day? I know it would suck for you, but I would ditch them completely. You may have a mess for a while but hopefully it will help.

My DS is 3 and is completely pee-trained. He doesn't have accidents and has no problems using public restrooms.

The issue is with the poop. He never has poop accidents in public. He won't poop at daycare. In fact he seems to only poop in his underwear or in a pull up at HOME. He's pooped maybe 2 times on the potty ever. I'm getting so sick of the soiled underwear. Any suggestions? Help! He doesn't seem motivated at all by toy or candy incentives.
