@hilsy85: I don't think Pirates Booty is a thing here! I would probably just do the Annie's snack mix that is cheddar bunnies, pretzels, etc.

@Smurfette: Okay thanks :)

I personally would not serve it at a birthday party, knowing that my own LO has a hard time with it. What about pirate's booty or something similar instead?

@daniellemybelle: personally I wouldn't want popcorn that early. I think Goldfish and pretzels, along with cupcakes is totally fine.

@Smurfette: Darn! Not even for the adults (and those who feel comfortable giving it to their kids)? We could still do Goldfish or pretzels in popcorn bags for the look, like the Bees did pirate's booty at Charlie & Olive's birthday: http://www.hellobee.com/2015/10/06/charlie-and-olives-little-red-riding-hood-birthday-party/

I wouldn't offer popcorn. Some parents might not feel comfortable with their LO eating it.

@Mrs. Lemon-Lime: I haven't decided what drink to do yet! I am wanting to go really low maintenance so I was thinking juice boxes for the kids and... I have no idea for the adults. I guess we could do cans or bottles of lemonade?

As @looch: mentioned, it can be a choking hazard. LO has never had a hard time with it but I still watch her. I am wondering if we are asking for trouble to offer that when kids are running around, parents are trying to talk... but we could always put Goldfish in mini popcorn bags and the popcorn is for the adults?

@mauxie: Thanks!

I personally love popcorn and it is a whole grain, but it is also a choking hazard for small kids. A lot of people don't realize it.

I think popcorn is a great morning snack! Are you serving it with lemonade?

I say go for it :) It sounds adorable and if there are cupcakes, you might as well do popcorn! I think as long as you are pretty clear that you are serving snacks/refreshments, and not a meal, you're fine!

We are doing a very casual birthday party for LO at a park with a miniature train. The "theme" is trains/Thomas. I am really trying to not get carried away and intend to basically buy some basic Thomas supplies at Party City and that's it as far as decorating.

The party is 10am-12pm and we don't intend to serve much food other than cupcakes and light snacks. For the snacks, I was thinking about popcorn? I feel like that is a good fit for fall. We could do 3 different kinds - regular, cheddar, caramel. It will sit out well and we could present it all cute in vintage red popcorn bags, which also goes well with the red & blue Thomas theme.

My only reservations are 1) LOs that can't manage popcorn that well but I could have Goldfish or another more kid-friendly snack as well, and 2) is popcorn weird to eat before lunch?
