I was just looking into one of these! I thought they'd be huge but the one (washer only) that I was looking at is slightly bigger than the diaper genie.

We used to have one just like that in our old condo! Probably not the same exact model. Personally I loved it but we may have had different needs. For me it was fine that it took a few hours to do a load of laundry, and I got used to not doing a lot at once.

ETA: My husband figured out how to do some kind of annual maintenance on it that kept it running really well. He learned that the people in our building who complained about their machines weren't ever doing the maintenance.

We had an LG 'all-in-one' in an apartment we rented.. it was terrible. It took a realllllly long time to complete a cycle (and the clothes were never dry so we'd usually have to dry again), it was so compact that everything came out wrinkly even if we took it out as soon as it was finished.

For us, it ended up being worth it to walk down 4 flights of stairs and use the full sized washer/dryers instead. The reviews on that one look decent though, maybe we just had a dud?

DH and I are looking into purchasing this in anticipation of our May baby--we have a laundromat down the street but the idea of laundry with a baby not in-home sounds pretty bad to us, though I know people do it!

Has anyone had a similar unit and can weigh in? The great thing about it is it is all in one and it doesn't need a vent or special electricity requirements, so we wouldn't need to do anything special to accommodate it.

Finally, does anyone know of a way to get discounts at Home Depot? We are pretty comfortable with the price but it would be awesome to get some kind of discount!
