Pok Pok is amazing but tough with a group and small children. Go for ladies night though. Por Que No is a favorite of our LOs ( and ours!), amazing tacos and margaritas. Go on the early side and don't stress about the line, you'll get a seat! We love the food carts on Division (around Se 28th?) Roman Candle has yummy Roman style pizza, Lauretta Jeans has the BEST pie (small, not for big groups). Hop-works, Laurelwood and Zyoiglaus have good beer and kid areas, Breakside has the best beer. Little T on division has the best pastries and coffee ever.. Omsi is fun, a walk at Oaks Bottom or Forest Park. Cloud City ice cream is our absolute favorite (less touristy than Salt and Straw, which is also fun). I could go on and on....

We went last year and really loved the OMSI museum with our LOs (19 months and 4.5 at the time). There's a huge and fun kids room.

We also liked Salt and Straw ice cream and Blue Star Donuts (didn't get a chance to try Voodoo, the line was too long!).

Bete Lukas is an Ethiopian restaurant close to where you're staying. They can always accommodate large parties (kids too), and it's sooo good!

For ladies night, I love the Sapphire Hotel. Again, close to where you're staying - it's an old timey hotel lobby that's now a bar. Their food menu is really great too.

If you go over onto Division, you'll have a ton of food options. A fun breakfast spot - though, there is often a wait if you get there too late - is Jam on Hawthorne. They even have an area for kids to play.

Mt. Tabor has a wonderful playground, so a picnic up there with the group could be pretty fun.

Prost is a great option in NE Portland. Fun fact: as long as someone orders a beer from them, the entire party can bring in food from the food carts, which is really great - lots to please everyone.

Definitely hit up Screen Door for brunch. For the ladies night out I’d highly suggest Portland City Grill for happy hour. It’s one of my favorite places to go with the friends & the views are incredible.

Hopworks is ine of DH's favorites.. It's also pretty kid friendly - from what I remember they have a few kids play tables in the upstairs of the restaurant/brewery. For a girls night I like the restaurants/bars in the nines hotel or for more low key you could check out NW 23rd or the pearl district.

ETA: for an awesome full day girls trip I'd recommend the wineries outside of Portland! My mom and I had a great time with my dad as DD :)

The zoo is on the max line and pretty awesome for an activity for the kids. If you want to go out sans husbands, I would go to the nines, or something downtown. There's really good public transit in Portland so you can get anywhere pretty easily. We ate at Imperial a few weeks ago and it was pretty awesome. I second youboots about the food carts. That is a really fun experience, plus there will be something for everyone.

I have not been but Pok Pok is hugely popular on the east side. Clark/Lewis may be fun for ladies night. There are a ton of food cart pods- one neighbors Prost- a beer joint. Sloppy cakes is a DIY pancake place that also has plated food. I rarely eat out on the Eastside so I'm not much help.

I'll be in Portland in a few weeks for a friend's wedding and renting a house in SE Portland (several blocks south of Mt Tabor park) with a group of friends from grad school. There will be 7 adults and 2 kids 3 and under. Any recommendations for activities and restaurants that would work for our big group/kids? We are all decent foodies and love breweries/wineries too. Also interested in a fun place for just the ladies to go out one night while the guys stay home with the kids (really looking forward to that night!).
Thanks all!
