I consider positive affirmations an important part of normal life, pregnant or not! It's hard to be happy when you're constantly demeaning yourself (and, in the case of pregnancy/birth, your body).

If you have a healthy body image and treat all aspects of pregnancy as normal and natural, it definitely makes a difference in pain/symptom management. The "bad" things become water under the bridge. They're much easier to work through, and very easy to let go of.

Our birh coach last weekend suggested doig that during labor. It's something that isn't for me, I feel silly doing so. I'd rather count to 100.:-) I'm sure it could work for some!

I have read that there is a strong connection between mind and body, and that repeating positive affirmations during childbirth can actually speed up the process/make it go smoother.

It got me thinking about life in general, and how I should start being more positive and repeating positive affirmations to myself when I am feeling down.

Lately I have been repeating to myself over and over that my body is NOT ruined just because I have stretch marks.

What positive affirmations do you use for yourself? What areas of your life could you use this?
