I had bright red blood at 12 weeks, OBs said it can happen in 25% of pregnancies and be no big deal.

@delight: My doctor's office actually just called to schedule and early ultrasound for Monday. I know it's going to be way too early to see anything (I'll only be 4w5d), so I'm going in expecting to see nothing, but I guess she wants me to come in because of the spotting.

i started spotting light red around 5.5 weeks, and this continued until 15 weeks, with no longer than 1 week at a time without spotting. I'm 37 weeks on Saturday!

Any blood is the scariest, nerve-wrecking feeling when you are pregnant, but it IS NOT always a worst case scenario, some people's bodies just do that during pregnancy!

FX for you and keeping your mind calm!

I spotted from 8DPO until just over 7w. Sometimes it was brown, sometimes red, but it was every day. It's hard not to worry but everything turned out fine with me. I was fortunate to be able to have scans at 7 & 9 weeks because of a previous mc. Therefore I knew that everything was progressing ok. Any chance you can get booked for a scan in a few weeks? Where I live, if you mention bleeding they often will give a scan around 6-7w. Good luck!

I had bright red bleeding at six weeks and twelve weeks - My daughter was born healthy and is now two years old. I was worried this would happen again in my second pregnancy, but I didn't experience ANY bleeding or spotting.

I spotted bright red blood and brown fluid (varied by the day) from 6 weeks to 8 weeks. Along with pretty intense cramping. My healthy baby is a walking, talking toddler! I was told that my implantation bleeding took a little while to come on through (so that was the brown spotting) and no real reason for the bright red.

Here's my edited post from @oliviaoblivia:'s other thread:

I had spotting the day after my bfp (so around 4 weeks/15dpo), then nothing for a week, then about 7-10 days of mostly brown spotting (but a few episodes of redder) during week 5-6ish. I was so paranoid - I took a weeks estimator test EVERY DAY until I had an OB appointment. (Hi, I'm a crazy person. Also this was over Christmas, couldn't get an appointment because I was out of town, and I was staying with my ILs, so I had to maintain my sanity somehow.)

When I finally got into my OB for an appointment, they couldn't find any real source - no SCH - besides a somewhat friable cervix. Everything looked fine. I have had maybe two isolated spotting incidents since then - both in the first trimester, both just when I wiped, following sex or a "challenging" bathroom trip.

I'm now 31+2 and besides the early spotting, I've had a relatively easy and uncomplicated pregnancy so far!

I had brown spotting off and on for weeks (starting at 11dpo). All is well with my 11-month-old little girl!

I spotted for a couple of weeks after my BFP (with some mild cramping). Same as you: very light brown/tan, not a ton, but enough notice. I'm currently 37 weeks pregnant and had a relatively easy and uncomplicated pregnancy. Congrats!

@oliviaoblivia: I know that there are some around the boards, but I didn't want to do a search and see negative stories too. I'm just trying to focus on the positive!

I spotted at 14DPO and then again at six weeks. Just brownish spotting, not a ton but enough to freak me out. So far at 13 weeks everything is fine and baby looks good.

There are a lot of positive spotting stories on HB. Search around and you'll find it happened to a lot of us.

I started spotting last week on Friday at 5w5d. It was just as you described. I then started bleeding (like AF) the next day and I completely panicked. It stopped and went back to brown the next day. I just had an ultra sound on Monday at 6w1d, and the doctor said it was a "very good" pregnancy. We heard a heartbeat and the baby was measuring right on track. I'm still spotting brown, and my doctor was completely unconcerned. She said brown was old blood and normal and nothing to worry about. I know it's almost impossible, but try not to stress too much, especially if all your other numbers are good.

I spotted from 9 dpo until 11 weeks with DD1, no known cause, sometimes brown, pink and even red. She was born perfect and is 18 months now. I am 17 dpo or 4 weeks 3 days pregnant now and spotted from 9 dpo till 15dpo. Obviously I don't know if everything is all good this time around but I know the pee sticks are positive so I try not to worry :) my Dr office doesn't even really address early spotting because they say it is so common.

I didn't spot that early, but I did spot a tiny bit (much like you described) around 8 weeks pregnant. I'm now nearly 32 weeks pregnant!

If your HCG is doubling, that's a very good sign.

I know spotting can be normal, but I can't help but worry. I'm trying to remain positive, and I thought hearing some stories of others that had successful pregnancies with similar spotting might help.
I have been spotting very lightly since 8 DPO, and I'm 15 DPO now. It is very light brown/tan, and I generally only see it when I wipe, and maybe a spot or two on my liner throughout the day.
My HCG levels doubled from 12 to 14DPO, so that is good, and my progesterone has been at a good level the entire time, so it is probably not that.
Any positive stories of healthy pregnancies after spotting in the beginning?
