The only time I used OPK's were when we were doing Clomid or Femara and timed intercourse. I've read afternoon is the best and to do it at the same time every time. </p> <p>They never seemed to work right for me, I would get a positive but then the blood test would show I didn't ovulate. Are you temping accurately? (aka are you using a basal thermometer, temping at the same time every day THE EXACT moment you wake up, etc?) How long are your cycles normally? Charts can be so fun to read, but so frustrating, too!<br /> And I agree with @maddyz: …if this is your first month charting, I would take LOTS of notes. I never used OPKs. Even a beer or glass of wine with dinner would rais my temp a little. I have to keep track of those days so it wouldn't throw off my chart. I also found that getting up to pee 3+ before I would temp was fine. But closer would mess me up. But I could take my temp before peeing and it would be ok (as in taking it early). For ME, every extra 30 min asleep was a rise of about .1-.2 ,, and vice versa.
