Congrats!!! I'm so happy for you! I had this happen this cycle. I got a positive the day after the intake appt. I called them because I didn't have an ob - expecting them to say they couldn't help because I wasn't receiving treatment - but they wanted me to come in for betas. I had bleeding at 5 wks and they've been fantastic - I'm so glad I was seeing them and not waiting for an OB referral, as it turned out I needed a shot within 48 hours of the bleeding to prevent complications in future pregnancies, which I would have not known.

We had just stopped treating with RE when I got + and I still called them. They had me in two hours later for a blood test to confirm. Then after that I just went to OB as usual. But it was nice to have the blood test and beta numbers at first.

So I say call the RE

Congratulations! Would it make any difference under your insurance? That's what would be the deciding factor for me in choosing who to call.

We had the same luck! Definitely stay with the re at the beginning, as they will likely be more attentive (betas, early ultrasound, etc). Congrats!

@Bibliolove: Well that's awesome... we got pregnant on our testing cycle too.. Call them i'm sure they will be excited and do betas/early ultrasounds. That's what mine are doing. They put me on progesterone right away too.

@Banana330: Congrats to you! :) No, they just did an HSG right after Christmas and wanted to do a follow-up sono a few days later. I'm glad I said no to the sono, since I knew I was so close to ovulating (I ovulate like CD 10). They actually just called us a few hours before I took a test, to remind us to schedule our sono and to tell us that our SA numbers were looking better.

Definitely the RE! They seem to be much more proactive about betas & early ultrasounds.

@Bibliolove: We were in the exact situation.. was your RE going to do a blood test at the end of the cycle? We're still seeing ours and they said they will discharge us at 12 weeks... In the meantime they did say to connect with an OB to schedule a first appt.

The RE! I had that exact same thing happen - RE ran bloodwork and early ultrasounds, then we "graduated" to the midwife. Congratulations!!!

Call the RE! I think they will be able to better assist you at this point. I think you would also get extra attention like getting betas drawn. So happy for you =] I remember you from the 6 month ttc boards.

Hello! For the first time in my life, I got a positive pregnancy test. I'm still processing it, but am over the moon. We were under the care of an RE, but were in the testing phase. So we hadn't done any interventions like an IUI. So should I call the RE still or do I call my OB?

My husband thinks we can just wait and call the OB, but worrywart that I am, if they were to do betas early on at the RE I would like to know if it's doubling. Technically, my period would be due tomorrow so it's not even late yet. But I am 15 DPO and had two positive tests from two different brands.

Thank you!
