Yes, I have it right now too. Is call the emergency line. Once you get drugs in you, you'll feel much better.

Each time I had mastitis it came on so quickly. Glad you went to get it checked out - hope you are on the mend soon!

@autumnleaves: good choice, mama! I don't know you but I'm still proud of you taking care of yourself when leaving the house this time of day with an infant at home and waiting at urgent care is the last thing you want to be doing. I have been at fault for waiting it out before.

Yep, sounds like mastitis. In my experience it goes from bad to awful very quickly, but clears up fast with an antibiotic. I might try the after hours number to see if they'll prescribe you something over the phone, but if not, I'd definitely go to urgent care asap.

Longtime lurker but I just registered so I could respond to you. I feel so bad; I've had mastitis 3 times and I know exactly what you're going through. It sounds like the mastitis was brewing throughout the day today. In my experience, MDs won't treat with antibiotics unless you have a sustained elevated temperature. Now that you have that, I would think you definitely need to be treated. As far as tonight vs tomorrow morning, that's a tough one. I have waited out the night only once. I won't lie, it was terrible. I also regret waiting because it messed with my milk supply. If you do decide to wait, pump every 3 hours. It will help alleviate symptoms a bit. Feel better soon!! The good news is, I always feel better even after just the first dose of antibiotics. Good luck!

I would go get it looked at now if you can. It can get nasty quickly and isn't fun.

I would go to urgent care. Not worth suffering with a 9 week old at home. Good luck!

Sounds like mastitis. Once I've gotten a fever I always end up on antibiotics, I have waited till morning but it wasn't a fun night.

Lecithin helps me too, you can find it in any grocery store. Warm showers and pumping and nursing as much as you can. Sorry you're not feeling well.

I've been feeling achy all day and my breast feels like it's burning/irritated but is not really red. I emailed my OB through their portal and they said since I did not have a fever of 100.5 or higher and my breast wasn't red that it's not mastitis and to continue with pumping and nursing.
Now I have a fever that fluctuates between 100.5 and 102. I took ibuprofen and that does not seem to have helped. I emailed my doctor through their portal again but since it's after hours I do not think they'll respond till tomorrow morning.
Would you try to calling the after hours number or going to urgent care or would you wait it out till you get a response from them? They responded pretty quickly today during working hours. I would feel bad bothering them about this after hours if it's not mastitis
My LO is 9 weeks old and has been sleeping a 6 hour stretch at night the past couple of nights. Would you recommend pumping every 2-3 around the clock to try to get rid of this?
Thanks in advance for any advice.
