@Mae: I ran over to Kroger on my lunch and my BP was 118/67, so super low. Thinking the pain was just a fluke cuz it went away, but I'm going to take it easy the rest of the day and go in if anything seems to pop up.

@mrs. 64: That's what the nurse said as well, it seemed to early for pre-e but it was a possibility. Based on the fact that my BP was low and the upper right quadrant pain went away after, I *ahem* went to the bathroom, I think I'm going to just keep an eye on things and see how it goes, but I really appreciate your imput and will definitely go get checked out if any symptoms at all pop back up. My MIL is sending a BP monitor home with my DH today so that will help me keep an eye on that.

@MrsTal: I had sudden onset pre-e at 25 weeks and delivered right away. I had a headache, body aches, and nausea/vomiting. I did have some swelling, but not everyone does. I didn't know that my blood pressure was high until I got to the ER (it had been perfectly fine at the OB's office several days before). I didn't have vision problems, but I know another pre-e mama whose vision blacked out. Please do not wait to be seen until Tuesday because things can happen very quickly. Right upper quadrant pain could be an indicator of HELLP syndrome. I don't want to be alarmist, but pre-e is serious and it is definitely worth being checked out.

ETA: Pre-e typically occurs after 20 weeks, but can occur earlier. Better to be on the safe side.

@MrsTal: I got bad headaches and my doc said if they ever lasted more than 8 hrs to go check my bp and if high go in. The target by campus has a bp machine I think.

@Trailmix: I was thinking about doing that. Unfortunately I'm at work right now so it's hard to get away bit maybe if I just asked my manager if I could run out for a minute...

@mrsrain: that's how I feel but I know I'm way overly cautious.

@Mrs. Pen: I'll check my insurance card and maybe call the doctor again. ETA: no swelling.

A urine test will also show if you have pre-e - you'd be spilling protein into your urine.

I had pre-e at the end of my pregnancy, but my only symptoms were high BP and protein in urine. No headache, side pain, swelling, etc.

Do you have any swelling?

I don't think it sounds like pre-e but you can never be too cautious. I'd take the weekend easy, rest up and wait until your appt Tuesday. Does your OB/GYN clinic have a nurse line? It never hurts to call and just ask! Most insurance companies have a nurse line number too on the back of the insurance card.

You should go in, if that's what she told you to do. Pre-e is not something you mess around with! Even if it is just gas, it really is better to be safe than sorry. Good luck!

I had pre-e at the end of my pregnancy and I also had spots in my vision throughout. When I had pre-e, I felt pretty crappy. A headache that wouldn't go away, light-headed, nauseous, spots in vision and a high BP. It was a distinctly different feeling from my usual light-headedness/vision spotting.
My hunch is that it's not pre-e but if you're worried you can go to a local pharmacy and have your BP checked for peace of mind! It's free and much quicker/easier/less of a process than calling your doc and being sent to l and d!

I'm 19 weeks today and the last few weeks I've had spots I. My vision. I googled it and found it was normal and it wasn't happening much so I didn't worry about it. The past week I noticed it more and finally called the doctors office. The nurse asked me about other symptoms like headaches that won't go away with Tylenol or pain on the right side under my ribs. She said that because I didn't have any other symptoms and low BP the last time I was in that she wasn't worried but to mention it to my dr at my upcoming Tuesday appointment, but she made it clear that should I have any other symptoms to go to labor and delivery for monitoring. Well today I have some pain on the right side under my ribs intermittently but no spots in my vision. I'm trying to not freak out and go in when it's possibly just gas but I'm worried I'm not taking this seriously enough, what do you all think?
