The reason they tell you to refrain for a week or so is to reduce any chance of infection from the surgery, since germs could be introduced 'into' you by trying too soon and you're not healed yet inside, even if you feel better.

@Happygal: well in that case, I'll give you the full TMI. The day of surgery, I had *heavy* bleeding, then 9 days of spotting. I O'd during that time, so had the lovely experience of bloody EWCM.

AF was pretty normal - in terms of LP and flow.

Interestingly enough (and this is why I so enjoy FF and the ability to look back), I did *not* have EWCM the month I got my BFP. Just *9* days of watery cm.

Even more TMI - we tried to turkey baste our way into pregnancy that cycle, but no go. Got KU 2 cycles later.

@CatchAFallingStar: yes! I'm most excited about what they took off my cervix--that caused pain sometimes during sex. I will find out more details on Friday.

@CatchAFallingStar: ouch. I spotted for 5 days, but that's about it. I'm not sure what stage I am--the doctor shared just the basics with my husband. I think they'll say it was stage 2 at the most.

I was told that O would be delayed by the lap. But it wasn't. I had the lap on cd10 and O'd right on schedule on cd17. But we were on two weeks of pelvic rest because of the surgery, so no TTC that cycle. O was normal the following cycle as well.

@Happygal: Well, I bled for 2 full weeks after mine. But, I did have Stage 4. I did ovulate, though... about 3 & 1/2 weeks after the lap, right on time.

@mrs. 64: I think things will be delayed for me as well. I think I was told just 1 week for no sex. It's a strange surgery in that I feel like I recovered quickly--was up making homemade soup the next day, but it's also taken awhile for things to return to normal.

My ovulation was definitely delayed by about 7-10 days. We were told to abstain for 2 weeks and had I known that ovulation would be delayed I guess we could have tried that month.

@Happygal: No, I'm not sure since it wasn't an issue for me based on the timing of my surgery so I didn't really pay attention  . I can check my sheets when I get home and see what the RE wrote down but I know he was of the opinion that we should abstain that month but were free to try again as soon as I got AF.

@Happygal: I guess there is a chance that your ovulation could be delayed. The RE might be able to tell you if they saw any follicles etc when you have your appointment. I was told we were not allowed to try at all that month, even naturally, if I hadn't O'd yet

@mrswin: the only instructions were that the month of the lap is out for TTC, but I took that in terms of doing anything with medication. I go on Friday to discuss the surgery results and a plan for treatment. I don't really think we'll get pregnant without intervention, so this is more a "just curious" question b/c I'm noticing a difference with my body.

What was your cycle like post-laparoscopy? Did things return right to normal? I'm CD 13 with zero EWCM in sight, which has never happened to me before. I still have little aches and pains, and I wonder if my body is still settling back to normal.
