I second the neti pot. Or saline nasal spray. I had a sinus infection for about 2 weeks and both really helped.

Thanks y'all! I'll have to try some of these. I am hoping it's just allergies and runs its course in the next week or so.

My doc put me on a neti pot and the OTC claritin. I also drank lots of warm tea with lemon and honey.

@Silva: I was going to suggest neti pot too, if you aren't totally stuffed up. I like the squeeze bottle kind, personally-- less messy and easier to use than the one that looks like a genie lamp. Doesn't help a ton but it's something. Make sure the water is warm.
Have you tried sleeping with your head raised a little extra? That always helps me a little with the runny nose, if I can fall asleep that way.

wanted to add- for sore throat specifically, hot tea with lemon and honey always helps me. or gargle with a little salt water.

try using a neti pot?
I had an awful cold a couple weeks ago, and was too congested to use the neti pot (don't use it if the water won't go through). I did use some oil that had several essential oils in it (eucalyptus was the main one) & did a steam before bed & rubbed some on my chest. Helped clear me out a bit more.
The only other thing is to keep water by your bed and drink a bunch when you wake up to pee in the middle of the night.

I took Zyrtec every day when I was pregnant because of horrible pregnancy congestion.

Zyrtec and Claritin (regular, not D) are safe during pregnancy. I've also read that eating marshmallows can soothe a sore throat, never tried it though. lol

I've had the same problem all week. I dealt with it by drinking a TON of fluid - water, tea, OJ. In my case, it just had to run its course.

The past few mornings I have woken up with a sore throat due to post-nasal drip. I have also been sniffling. I am pregnant so I know there isn't much I can take. Does anyone have any recommendations of something I can take or a more homeopathic remedy that might help? Thanks!
