Our lists sound pretty similar. I'm going to get started on this soon..maybe this weekend. And my mum's going to come for a weekend and help make a ton of stuff before baby's arrival as well.

Here's what's on my list so far*:
-French toast casserole
-Egg casserole
-Lasagna
-Enchiladas or Mexican lasagna
-Chicken and broccoli casserole
-Broccoli and cheddar soup
-Lactation cookies
-Chili
-Muffins
-Cookies
-Green smoothies

*As I think you know, I normally eat a pretty paleo diet, but I've decided to throw that out the window for the immediate postpartum period and just focus on having food available to eat!

We're freezing cooked shredded chicken, and just made a ton of blueberry waffles to freeze individually. I'll probably make some chicken stock too.

Next on our list are ravioli, pierogi, a few broccoli/chicken/rice casseroles, flour tortillas, turkey/ham burger patties, and lactation cookies.

We are also buying a whole slew of beef from a local farm so that we are stocked. Our deep freezer is a godsend!

@blackbird: I wish that was the case for me! I LOVE veggies and lived off of them during my pregnancy. They unfortunately did not sit well with LO. I had the blandest diet when I was breastfeeding. :o(

@2peasinapod, i do eat red meat, definitely! I was worried about all the veggies, too, but i'm hoping since i eat a lot of them now, maybe the effect won't be obvious after she's here?

turkey chili (great served over rice with avocado), meatloaf, stuffed shells, pureed soups (root vegatable, curred carrrot), sauce, meatballs (you can serve them with red sauce, prepackaged masala sauce), salsa chicked (add black beans and corn), trader joes has some really delicious precooked/bagged items. Not super healthy but great in a pinch.

i don't love buying them but the uncle bens 90 second rice has been so great for us. it is gross right out of the bag but used as a platform for something else it it really great.

Not sure if you eat red meat, but I made a big roast, sliced it and froze it in meals. I also froze the juice separately. And speaking of turkey...try making a turkey breast, slicing it and freezing that in meals as well!

One thing to warn against...if you're breastfeeding, go easy on the veggies. My LO was horrible with almost everything! So much gave him gas...especially veggies. And one of the most surprising things that gave him gas? Spaghetti sauce!! Now...I also had a baby with major gas issues, but sometimes you just don't know what's causing it!

We have a freezer in the garage, otherwise I wouldn't be able to stock up this much!

@thanks arden. i'll have to try a new recipe, i suppose. I do like the gardenburger ones and I think they are kind of oat-y. Crazy amount of sodium, though.

@revel, i have a paleo thai curry crockpot recipe :) It's definitely a food that is better the next day! yum. It's good over riced cauliflower.

@smurfette: I decided a few days ago that if someone says they're going to visit, I'm gonna make it mandatory for them to bring food stuff, lol. Even if it's just a pack of oreos or some chips. Between that, take out (and delivery!) and our mothers, I shouldn't starve for a week or two, lol.

@blackbird: There are some really good ones on pinterest, but I usually make up mine as I go along with whatever I have on hand.
Usually its a blend of cooked oats, chopped nuts, soy sauce, onions, spices, sometimes quinoa or black beans, any random veggies (chopped up tiny)... if you add an egg or two that can help it stay together. Then I roll them into balls and squish them flat, coat the outside in bread crumbs if they are too sticky, and bake!

Good thread! I will be following - I'm 26w and plan to start stocking the freezer in about 4 weeks.

I hope to go back to mostly paleo after pregnancy, but not low carb, so these are a few ideas I have so far:

-Thai coconut curries - chicken/veg/curry paste - probably add the coconut milk when heating, not before freezing
-Butternut squash soup - basically a puree soup (can add cream or coconut milk), add chicken sausages, some kind of greens ,and freeze - this is delicious and freezes really well.
-pasta sauce/meatballs

I'm trying to think of some more soups - although it will be almost summer by the time baby is here.

@arden, oooo veggie burger patties! That sounds awesome! Do you have a good recipe to share? I've tried to make them once or twice and they just fall apart!

@grizz, I've totally made those with beef! Man, we haven't had them in forever. The filling makes a good burrito, too. thanks for the reminder! I think i'll just make the filling and freeze it; DH can always stuff it in whatever we want.

I was wondering if enchiladas would freeze ok! I've made them like, twice...and they just end up kind of gooey. the white chicken ones look good, though!

yes, yes, 'clean'. that's what i'm going for. i don't mind a few junky meals here and there but I generally try to eat clean

The problem with chili, @sslm, is that we usually eat it over noodles with cheese and sour cream, haha. And chili mac is not healthy at all :P

Oh, and I have seen a ton of freezer crock pot recipes on Pinterest - you freeze everything together in a bag, and you just dump the bag in the crock pot the morning of. They all look pretty clean too - meats, veggies, and some spices.

I bring all my friends who have just had babies two pans of enchiladas - one to eat now, one to stick in the freezer. Its my grandmother's recipe and my friends all request it :) Now that I'm nearly in my third tri I'm going to start making some things and freezing them, and they are top on my list! Somehow they taste better after being frozen. Her recipe isn't anything top secret - its pretty much identical to all the white chicken enchilada recipes on Pinterest. You can make it as healthy or unhealthy as you like! :)

So it looks like we won't have any/much help at all when the baby comes. I'm sure some friends and family will drop a couple of dishes off, but nobody will be staying with us or doing our laundry, cooking for us, or anything like that, like I had previously thought (see a previous post of mine about how my parents are having plastic surgery 2 and 6 weeks before my due date, shit you not...).

So, I'm starting Operation Frozen Meals in like, 2 weeks. I have a list of what I think i will like (why is healthy food so hard to pre-make and freeze?!) but was wondering if any of you had anything that was just AMAZING and so fantastic to just heat and eat in the weeks after you brought your newborn home. I've never been much of a frozen meal cooker, so this is WAY outside my element!

I have: chicken soup, miyuk-guk, meatballs, spaghetti sauce, breakfast burritos, muffin, various marinated meats (so we can just thaw and DH can grill), a breakfast egg type thing, some various slow cooker type meals i can just dump into the crockpot and turn on....(i don't like creamy casseroles, btw)

What else was a Godsend?!
