I was tested about 3 months pp and everything was fine according to the endocrinologist. I was so nervous. I also dropped the diet once baby was born!

Oh and I totally dropped the diet once the baby was born. Hell, I dropped it before he was born!

I was tested about 8 weeks pp. OB says I'm insulin resistant and suggested I go see an endocrinologist. I wasn't really surprised. I have a family history of type 2 diabetes. I have that appointment later this month so we'll see what he says.

I was only tested immediately following birth. I will be tested 6 weeks post partum this time and will have to routinely have my A1C tested since this is my second time with GD.

I was good to go after baby was born. They tested my sugars the two days I was in the hospital and it seemed good. Then was tested with a new 3 hour fasting, and it was completely gone.

When I started labour I baked chocolate chip cookies and brought them with me when I went to have the baby, and then ate them immediately. And then pretty much this entire first year I've been subbing coffee and sugary foods for sleep, so yeah, my diet went to crap.

Eek, I'm so nervous about this! I am definitely cheating right after LO is born though. DH has instructions that someone better get me a Mountain Dew with a burger and fries within like a few hours of baby being born! LOL

I wasn't tested at my six week appointment. I think I should have been and am dealing with a major sugar addiction now.

I had some issues controlling my fasting numbers for a while but my A1C came back fine. I tried to keep up the GD diet for a while but it was practically impossible with a newborn.

I'm basically wondering how many people found out they were now pre-diabetic or diabetic after having GD. Also did you go nuts with diet after labor, or try to keep an even keel? I think I'm going to try to eat this way for the most part from now on, but I'll certainly have cheat nights. In fact, the first week pp might be a cheat week...
