I had such bad hair loss at my temples- I got a pixie cut and am able to swoop my hair forward and it hides it. Plus, baby girl can't grab my hair!

@babypugs: @DesertDreams88: I saw my LO's pediatrician today and asked about this and she said any dose was fine and that I would just pee out any excess and if it got into the milk that my LO would pee out any excess.

@babypugs: there's not a ton of info out there but: http://kellymom.com/nutrition/vitamins/reference-intake-table/ The graph is a little hard to read, it is 35 µg daily intake recommended during breastfeeding, with no upper limit.

I chose to take it towards the end of breastfeeding (9m on) because he was nursing less anyway, and I def don't get enough biotin in my limited diet.

Taking too much is related to miscarriage so I wouldn't take it during TTC, however.

@looch: since college I have always had at least one wig on hand to change up my look. I'm such a wuss about cutting bangs or doing a real chop, but with a wig you can experience so many styles.

@KayKay: Ugh yes same my hair immediately got so greasy and gross!

My hair loss was pretty bad the first time around... And I already have fine/thin hair to begin with. I had to start taking biotin and use biotin/keratin hair products. For now I'm still taking prenatal since I'm nursing, but I will switch to biotin when I'm done.

I got layers in my hair and did balayage to hopefully make it look a little nicer to prepare for the hair loss!

I swear the hair situation after my 3rd now was almost immediately awful! I got home from the hospital, and it already seemed greasier and flatter and duller. The hair loss hasn't even started yet, usually around 4m.

With previous pregs, I honestly didn't think anything really helped hide it. I'm not a "bangs" person, so maybe that would help hide the forehead/temple hair loss? But I don't think long vs. short hair really made a difference. Mostly I just try to wash it as infrequently as possible (tons of dry shampoo!) so that I don't break off any extra hairs that wouldn't have fallen out on their own.

@Mrs. Lemon-Lime: I appreciate that you mention a wig, I think it would have really helped me if I had an alternative in those early months!

I had to just cut it. There was a stylist that I loved that basically had a heart to heart with me and told me that I had to cut it to deal with it. It was the best advice and I am thankful I listened!

I stocked up on bobby pins and would twist the baby hairs frenchbraid style from my part back towards my ears. I felt like I looked twelve for like a year postpartum.

@dragonsword: I lost tons of hair at my temples with both kids (I have identical bald spots right now) and I've changed my part so it doesn't look too bad. But I feel you on the grossness, my hair is so greasy and hard to do anything with.

@Mrs. Lemon-Lime: my hair loss is actually worse on the sides, so the only way to cover it up is if I pull the Trump style comb over! I feel you on the fivehead!

@DesertDreams88: thanks for the tip! Going to amazon right now!

I didnt realize how bad it was until my hair started growing in around the edges. Although I shouldn't complain since I just lost a little air around the front and it made my forehead look even more like a fivehead. Seeing it thinned out up close was pretty traumatic.

Wigs can be fun. Otherwise, fake a sideswept bang if you can.

It is so annoying. I am now in the phase with two inch hairs all over my head that stick out like crazy. In a few more months I'll be able to braid it into a side braid but for now I just use a little gel and hairspray and try not to care. It happened after my first, grew in, had another baby, started all over again.

No advice, just commiseration. I remember I couldn't pull my hair back for a really long time because I had so many baby hairs sticking up and looked ridiculous. I'm dreading that happening again. The post partum shed is no joke.

For those of you who experience the dreaded postpartum hair loss, how did you style your hair? I cut my hair pretty short right before I had my baby knowing that this will happen to me but my hair still looks awful. It gets greasy in a day and it's just flat and barely there. I look sick. I've been contemplating on getting a wig! Should I just wear a thick headband? Ugh. Help.
