It was super easy and it's been over a year with no issues. I had a couple days of spotting and took one bcp the second day thinking I was getting my period but it never really came. So now I'm just waiting again. I'm actually choosing to wait until my period because I want to take advantage of the no-period time provided by breastfeeding and I'd prefer to postpone the spotting many people get when starting Mirena. So we're using condoms until then. I figured if they were already in there getting out a baby, the least they could do was slip some birth control in! :silly: </p> <p>I had my Mirena placed several months after giving birth – I know that my OB will do it both at the 6 week pp visit and that they prefer you’re having a period when they insert it, but they will of course place it any time.
