I didn't really have it while I was pregnant but DS was 'sunny side up' and because of his crooked position I had it during delivery - it actually affected the way the epidural took in my left leg as well, it was still painful down my left leg during and after delivery. It did go away a few weeks after he was born though.

@HeatherlovesKenny: It's lessened significantly but it flares up about once a week.

@mrsaudi: Oh no!! you too :( I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one, but I'm sad it ails you too.

The chiro really helps straighten everything out, and many times there is pain because things "slip" into improper places/form. I also feel better after the chiro! My dr is awesome too.

@dookie32: Oh it's definitely not AS bad as when I was pg. And it's a little different as well. Before it was mostly radiating in my back, but now it's in my left thigh

Ugh sorry that sounds terrible. Mine hasn't gone away (5 months PP) but it's not as bad as it was when I was pregnant. Back then I couldn't walk or stand for longer than 10 minutes before my entire right thigh started throbbing. Now I just have numbness at random times when I'm sitting or laying down. I've thought about letting the dr know but it doesn't really happen frequently enough to worry about it now. I'm just hoping that it will eventually go away. I would definitely see a physical therapist or chiropractor in your case if it's keeping you from being able to lift things.

I'm still pregnant (obviously) but my sciatica has recently returned. I had a few weeks off. It was mainly my back, now it's my left hip and groin area. I have an appt in about an hour so I plan to ask about it then, I'll let you know if any helpful info!

I'm sorry you are in so much pain. Mine went away for the most part but flares up every once in awhile. However, I fell off a horse when I was 15 landing pretty hard on my right hip and the sciatic pain I experienced was on that side during pregnancy. My OB said the two were possibly related so it never completely went away. The first pregnancy it didn't appear until 39w exactly, with my current pregnancy it showed up at 22w but has gone away except for occasional flareups every once in awhile (currently 38w).

I was told my sciatica would go away nearly as soon as the baby was born. I was actually fine for the first month, so focused on healing elsewhere... but it's still flaring up and this week it's been really intense.

My chiropractor told me the sciatic nerve, although in the back, frequently shoots down the front too, I've been having severe issues in my left thigh near my crotch to the point where I hobble all the time.. lifting makes it worse, today I feel like I just barely made it to the car with DS in his carseat. I am in so much pain.

Did anyone else's sciatica not go away?
