Just a little reminder that most people experience a hormonal emotional low for a bit when they wean. It will pass! And it might be part of how you're feeling about appearance/clothes. Also, don't make the mistake I did and buy really gorgeous bras right after weaning. It can take your body a few months to settle into its new shape. But I have zero help for your actual question. I'm following for some clothes advice!!

@youboots: oh you definitely need to get a few things that feel good. Last summer I loved knee length slim shorts- cigarette style ones. It wasn't so much the length (I like short shorts too!) but the cigarette cut almost always has a more tailored, slightly higher waistband which was more flattering on me. And it made me feel very 1950s glamorous. I paired those with sheer flutter tops over a lacy long bralette. The sheer flutter tops are awesome. The teen section at Nordstroms has them and their brand (BP) is pretty affordable. They don't cling, aren't hot and come in a zillion patterns and colors.

I also like the American Eagle soft and sexy v neck tee. It's slow slightly oversized but not in a sloppy way. If you have boobs it makes them look fab but not too show offy. If you have no boobs it drapes just enough to soften the figure. And it's seriously comfortable. It could be a good running around top and you could dress it up with a necklace or light cardi.

What's your favorite body part now? Show it off!
Before my son I didn't like my arms. But they became muscled- not super muscled, just you could see that there was a muscle there :) after I carried him around so much the first year. So when I feel unhappy about my body I try and wear things that show off the little bit of arm muscle and I feel a lot better.

@Sapphire I want to hear what you think of stitch fix! If I was going back to work soon I would sign up in a heartbeat.

@youboots: My rib cage and hips are definitely wider than they used to be so that clothes that used to fit don't even when I've been heavier than I currently am.

I just signed up for StitchFix. I haven't gotten my first shipment yet, but I thought it'd be a fun way to get some new clothes without having to work too hard at it myself. I also like the Nordstrom personal stylist idea.

@akcoffeebean: yes- I was thinking of doing this for the anniversary sale in July. I have not done it yet. And I slum it for photoshoots since I get so hot and I'm only shooting for people I know.

Yes! I think my rib cage must be the issue! I can't say I feel good in much right now.

Yeah. We made it to a year (yay) but I have some mixed feelings about being done.

@youboots: I felt like that too. Is it possible to make an appointment with a Nordstroms stylist, invest in a few pricier tips for your photo shoots and then follow their suggestions and pick up additional tops on threadless or other less expensive shops?

I had a stylist help fit me for jeans and it was fabulous. She didn't have preconceived ideas of what size I should be, or brand/cut loyalty to jeans that had been flattering pre baby. I never would have tried on some of the pants she brought out for me on my own. But I ended up loving them.

If that's not an option- do you know your general shape? I used to be straight up and down but now am more of an inverted triangle. It was hard to get used to my broader rib cage when before it had been dainty. But! I look really strong in athletic cut tanks whereas before I really needed a more petite cut.

What accessories and clothes are still working for you that you love? Maybe picking a few outfits around a favorite pair of sandals or using a favorite dress can help figure out what kind of clothing cut you'll be happiest in.

Ps- I hope the post weaning blues depart soon. Hormone crashes are no joke!

@Foodnerd81: Oddly my chest is the exact same size, besides engorgement. I'm surprised how good everything looks in that area. It was just time for me to get a couple new non nursing bras anyways. My old ones still fit they are just getting ratty.

@youboots: I don't have any great advice but I totally understand the weird in between shape and sizing, so annoying. Personally I wouldn't invest in new bras yet since I hear your boobs will continue to adjust for a bit- depending on your size can you buy a few inexpensive ones to get you through until they settle?
I am currently 3.5 months post partum after my second, weigh less than I did when I got pregnant with my first (but 15 lbs up from when I got pregnant with my second) and no pants fit at all. My tummy and hips and thighs are just different shaped.

At least it's almost summer right??

My daughter is officially weaned as of 2 weeks ago. I have been living in a wardrobe of nursing tanks, zip up sweatshirts and maternity leggings mostly. Today I packed up my tanks. I'm going bra and jeans shopping tomorrow. I weigh the exact same as I did when I got pregnant but a lot of my pre pregnancy clothes oddly do not fit- like button ups don't button around the bust. I just went through my closet and pulled out all the maternity clothes I was still wearing. I'm not happy about what's left.

I'm feeling kind of bummed about how I look and would love some help finding a few new pieces to add to my wardrobe. I SAH mostly but also do a photoshoot or so a week, I go to board meetings 1x for my family business- overall I need casual pieces for a mild climate- but a few dressier tops would be fine. I feel better about summer because I have maxis/rompers that I know fit because we just traveled to a warm climate.

I'm also feeling bittersweet about weaning- so perhaps that's part of being bummed? I don't know. I just feel gross and like nothing fits.
