They make thicker pacis for kids older than 6 months but my kids hated them - we used the soft ones until they weaned which was 2.5 for DS and around 2 for DD.

They do pierce easily though once they are chewing on them so just keep checking them and toss if you get a hole!

As a side - once DD weaned from it we cut off the paci and she still sleeps with her wubbanub- she loves her

We used them a little longer than 6 months but by then my daughter was more interested in Dr. Browns pacifiers and then she stopped using them once she got teeth -guess it didn't feel the same

Are you at all crafty? You could try keeping the lovey but updating the paci http://community.babycenter.com/post/a30386395/the_wubbanub-mam_conversion_pics

I think the general guidance on pacis is under 6m? I wouldn't worry about it.

Still going strong at 9.5 months. When the time comes, I'll just cut the paci off of Wub so she can keep her loveys.

We are still going strong with our "wubby" at 19 months. I never knew they weren't for children over 6 months..?? We use to have 2 and I cut the paci off one of them at 12 months cause we thought we were gonna wean, but it didn't go so well, so we have one left and the paci is about to fall off of it :(

I just learned that wubbanubs are for infants six months and younger (presumably because they aren't suitable for teething infants)! I am so upset--my six-month-old LO loves his. What did you use post-wubbanub? He's never really seemed interested in other pacifiers.
