Feel better! I had it off and on both pregnancies.

I just tried yoga and some stretches to help. For me it was squats that helped get my hips back in line.

@Mrs. Lion: being on your feet makes it worse, even standing! I stretch my hip flexors, glutes, inner and outer thighs. I am on my phone but I will try and wall you some stretches later today!

@Freckles: i have tried stretching and it seems to make it worse...but maybe im not stretching the right muscles? I used anheatong pad last night and it helped temporarily, and overnight it seems to be better this morning. I was on my feet a lot yesterday...i wonder of that is why it got so bad? I will definitely be asking for a recomendation at my ob appointment tuesday. I am so sorry you are dealing with this too. It is awful :(

Welcome to my world!! I had this with my first pregnancy and now with this second. I recommend seeing a physiotherapist or chiropractor who does ART (active release techniques). I personally wouldn't go to a massage therapist because I find things feel more loose afterward. What also helped was not sitting on super lumpy/cushy seats. Something with a firm back or seat helped. Also, have you done any stretches? Stretches and some light core work will help too. Hope you feel better!!

@Mrs. Lion I have something similar and after unsuccessful PT (ugh, I hate the move-if-it-hurts-but-not-if-the-moving-hurts instruction), I went to a pelvic floor specialist to try to have some deep knots in my glut dry needled. While it wasn't technically in my pelvic floor, they seem to be the experts on women's muscle/nerve-related hip pain. The dry needling itself sucked, but the relief was instantaneous.

A physiatrist might also be able to help or at least know which kind of therapy will help. They are more highly trained that PT's, but not surgery-focused like many orthopedists.

@Mrs. Lion: I'm guessing it's the same thing? We call it physiotherapy. They give you a massage to loosen up muscles and then excersises to keep them that way. Sometimes you get to swim in a hot tub. They are the same people that help people learn to walk again after a bad car crash. For this butt pain, she put heat on my quad, then massaged it...and I don't remember what the excersices were, but it fixed me up fast.

@Mrs. Lion: Mine's off to the left, and it's because that side of my pelvis is rotated, I guess. Sorry you're in pain! It stinks, especially with a toddler!

@rattles: it is more off to the side, but it could be the same thing anyway. It is so crazy. It isnt like a normal back ache. It is like there is a tiny clothespin pinching me, and it gets worse if i try to stretch it.

Does it feel like it's near your tailbone? That's what I have this time around, and it's excruciating! I got a prescription for PT from my OB, and it's been really helpful. Apparently it's SI pain from my hips being out of alignment since our ligaments are all wobbly/stretchy while pregnant. My insurance is covering twice a week PT. I hope you can get it figured out!

@Grace: yes, that exactly. I feel dumb asking but what is a physio? Is that different than a physical therapist?

Does it almost feel like it's in your butt? If so, go to physio. It's something to do with your hips trying to rotate, but muscles are preventing it. Or something like that.

@Mrs. Lion: I get something similar, related to my endo and I have always found that the chiropractor is able to help with the pain management. May be worth a call to see what the recommend.

So i think dr. Google has helped me narrow down the awful pain i am having in my back and i am pretty sure it is posterior pelvic pain. I had it my whole first pregnancy and it reared its ugly head this week. Today we went to thw playground and after crouching down with lo in the sand it took me forever to be able to stand back up, and it has been excruciating ever since.

Its a sharp pain in the left side of my lower back, lower than my hip. It is seriously awful. Does anyone else have this problem? Online everything i have found says to move, but dont move if it hurts. But dont sit too long either. Should i see a physical therapist? Get a massage? Any other suggestions?
