@photojane: I'm glad she's going in. :) It's so hard . . . it's the worst feeling to hear them cough and then gag on the mucous but to not be able to do anything to help! And there's only so much snot you can suck out with a NoseFrida! My LO has also had a few instances where she threw up because she had swallowed so much mucous during the course of a day or two that she ended up just puking it up (usually after a solid meal, too).

@MsLipGloss: thanks for replying! Makes me feel much better that someone else has been through it & it's relatively normal. I called the nurses line since she absolutely will not eat, and they told me to bring her in since she's coughing to the point of choking. Hopefully it's nothing & they'll have some tips for me!

Yes, we have been through this a few times. Keep trying to get her to take fluids and be sure to keep track of her wet diapers to make sure she isn't dehydrated. I wouldn't worry so much about the food. Swallowing all of that yuck is likely making her tummy not feel so great (and she probably can't taste much with a stuffy nose either).

If she doesn't perk up in the next few hours (how long has she been lethargic?), I would make an appointment with your Ped today. I hope she feels better soon!

For the past week Sadie's had an ear infection & virus. Her nose was super cloggy. The past 2 days, she's been pretty much back to normal. Then this morning she was coughing & coughing in her sleep. So much that there was spit up all down the front of her. Since she's been up she has coughed up enough phlegm that it gagged/choked her. I'm thinking it's postnasal drip from her being sick. She won't touch her morning bottle, which has never happened - she always sucks them right down. She won't drink water either. She's clingy & lethargic this morning, but I'm most worried that she won't eat.

Anyone else been through this? Advice?
