@ladyfingers: Ah I see. That's great nursing is going better! Maybe start keeping a log of when they happen. Write down the date, time and any other notes. Like what you were doing when it started, how long since you nursed, etc. Maybe you'll see a pattern and figure out what's causing it.

@ladyfingers: In that case I would definitely check in with the doc.

In terms of cabin fever, get outta the house, girl! I made sure to leave the house every single day while I was on maternity leave.

@mrskc: it's only been happening the last couple of days. Nursing had been going so much more smoothly, so I'm definitely not dreading it.

@highwire: it's weird, it happens whether its day or night. It's totally random - nothing triggers it.

I may be having some cabin fever too...

@mrskc: I also had dread/worry/anxiety in anticipation of nursing sessions in the beginning, and later on when I had mastitis and new it was going to HURT

By 6 weeks most of my anxiety had passed. I had some anxiety attacks the first couple of weeks. It might be worth it to check with your doc. Have these just started recently or have you been experiencing this since your baby was born? Are you still having issues with nursing? Like maybe you're dreading the next session and that's why you're feeling this?

@highwire: The sunset was a really rough time for me too. My mom works with Alzheimers patients and apparently sunset is when they get most aggitated as well.

@ladyfingers: Possibly! Mine always happened in specific scenarios: 1) when the sun was starting to set, because I was terrified about being up all night with an inconsolable infant and 2) when there were a lot of people in my house and I didn't want to socialize

@highwire: yeah I have no idea why they're just now coming on. Effects of sleep deprivation? :)

Yes, I had these earlier on. By 6 weeks though, not as much. I'd check with your doc.

Bump. I am seeing my psychiatrist in a couple weeks and if it gets worse will call her but was just curious if anybody else has experienced this and what you did.

By 6 weeks my anxiety issues had mostly passed. If you have a history I would call your OB and discuss what you are feeling just to be safe.

And thank you for mentioning D-MER. I looked it up and I totally have that and never told anyone but my hubs because I had no idea it was something other women experienced, I thought I was alone in those feelings.

For the past couple of days, I have been having periodic waves if anxiety. They'll come on suddenly with no provocation then leave after a minute or so. They're not accompanied by any thoughts, it's just an intense butterfly-in-my-stomach feeling with a sense of dread/fear/worry. It's usually in between nursing sessions, so I thought maybe it was dysmorphic milk ejection reflex but it sounds like that's just something that happens during nursing when you let down. It seems like my breasts hurt more deeply right after the wave passes so could it be related to milk coming in for the next session? Or maybe it's a coincidence. It's only been the past couple of days so it probably has nothing to do with my milk.

I have a history of depression and anxiety and have been off meds and doing well since 5 weeks into my pregnancy. But these new mini anxiety episodes have me worried.

I'm 6 weeks post partum.

Anybody else experience these?
