Then around 8 weeks I thought I got my period and was devastated! And surprised, since I'm EBF still. But my OB explained that sometimes a scab forms where the placenta was attached to your uterus. My father-in-law passed away and the bleeding started back up the day of the visitation. I thought the bleeding part was over for me after two weeks, but then around the beginning of week 4, it started up for me again and I even remotely thought it could be my period. At two weeks the consistent heavy flow stopped. Then every now and then I'll get some light bleeding. There were a day or two later on that I would -TMI- pass big clots. Around three weeks pp, it started very lightly again. I'm four weeks out now and sometimes it's like a light period.</p> <p>Everything I've seen says menstruation wouldn't return this early, especially while breastfeeding. Did the postpartum bleeding taper off and start again for anyone else? </p>
