My vote is overdid it. I had significantly increased bleeding for 24+ hours every time I pushed myself (by which i mean, did 2 flights of stairs rather than 1) for 8 weeks. And I also stopped bleeding mostly at 6 weeks but then bled on/off until 10 weeks. PP bleeding blows.

I started working out six weeks PP and was wearing a liner to the gym because I would spot or have clear fluid secretions. It went away after a few more weeks. Gross, though.

@MrsTal: I'd definitely take it easy. Sounds to me like it's still PP bleeding.

@Ash: The bleeding is more like spotting with the occasional light flow happening now and then. It does seem to taper off with rest.

@Mrs. Lion: I definitely think I overdid it, I just kind of got into the groove and didn't want to stop. I felt it hard the next day, I just didn't think that it would bring back the bleeding.

@LAZB: I saw that too, I'm still under that window so maybe there is hope it's just PP bleeding still.

@BeachMama: I think that's the plan, maybe just stick to the yoga and walking for a few weeks.

I'm now 8 weeks pp, stopped bleeding at 6 weeks and started spotting again at7 weeks, but hopefully done now. I was wondering the same thing as you, and in my limited Google research I found that the World Health Organization considers any bleeding past 56 days (I think) menstruation. That said, I still think it sounds like you maybe overdid it yesterday.

That sounds like a lot of activity to start with. Id take it easy for the next few days then start back with light exercise and build up from there.

I got the ok this week too but my doctor said to start with no more than 20 minutes per day and build back up. That may have been too much to start?

It sounds to me like you overdid yourself. Has the bleeding tapered at all?

I'm 7 weeks postpartum and got the go ahead from my doctor to resume all activities last week. Wednesday i decided to start working out, did some yoga and light weight lifting then decided to do a brief HIIT workout, then later that day I went for a fairly long walk. The next day I started bleeding (my pp bleeding stopped at 4.5 weeks), I thought it was just from overdoing it the day before but I'm still bleeding today, could this be my period returning (please say no)? I'm EBF but little guy has been sleeping for fairly long stretches at night lately.
