@Mrs. Microscope: Me too! My regular jeans aren't fitting quite yet and maternity jeans are falling off but I hate only having yoga pants as an option. Especially when I leave the house!

@Mrs. Microscope: yes! I told DH I hate summer because I know I'd be fine in sweaters and leggings but most of my shorts fit weird right now. I can wear one pair of my skinny jeans, but I haven't tried my boot cut on yet, mostly because I don't think they'll fit!! I know I'm only 3.5 weeks pp, but it's so frustrating to find clothes that fit ok and that I can nurse in.

I'm walking now at 4 weeks pp, and I'm planning some hikes in the next week. I plan to hit the gym and start JM 30 day shred after my 6 week pp appointment! 10 lbs left to lose, and I'm tired to the in-between " jeans don't fit, maternity pants don't fit yoga pant limbo"!

@Mrs. J: I'm 2 Wks pp and also shave been thinking about this. I'm so eager to get back to exercising! Honestly I feel pretty much fully recovered at this point but I wonder what would happen if I started doing my Tracy Anderson workouts again. We have already been walking almost daily around the neighborhood and to the pediatrician. First week walking was more exhausting but I think I'm fine now. How do you feel?

I started walking right away. I was back on elliptical around a month PP. My recovery was super easy after DD. With DS, I delayed but that was because he was in NICU for 10 days and my priority was his health.

Well, I've had c-sections, so I feel that's sort of a different beast in terms of when to start and types of exercise but this time I've been doing lots of research and reading on pelvic floor and core rehab after pregnancy. What I've found has been fascinating! I'm currently doing breathing exercises and walking. I can't wait to start lifting heavy weights again but I want to be Smart about DR and pelvic floor healing.

@mrsjyw: haha yup chasing the toddler! Did you talk to your doc/midwife about starting before 6 weeks at the gym, or did you just go based on how you felt? Like this time, I had no tearing, no stitches, so a different recovery!

Definitely walking right away, but once I was 6 weeks pp I was in the gym! I started with Pilates and non impact cardio (like the elliptical), I couldn't do anything with jumping for a very long time. Pilates and yoga to start, then I added in a few more classes like Zumba/Latin hip hop, HIIT, tabata, etc.

Jamie Eason also has a free post partum trainer on bodybuilding.com - I haven't done it personally but it really looks great!

@Mrs. J: DO IT!! they also have protocols for pregnancy and post partum, so i always felt super supported and like i wasn't going to hurt myself. my old studio also started a momma and baby program where you wear the baby in a carrier while you work out! :) they now have 15 mommas doing the session.

ETA: i've done pure barre and something similar to bar method and they really don't have instruction for pregnancy and if i didn't know what i was doing already, i could have definitely hurt myself.

I got back on my bike at 10 days post partum. Physically it felt ok, but I was still feeling a bit dizzy and shaky, so I should have waited longer. Now, at a month post partum, I'm able to get a good work out in. I'm still waiting on my pelvis to really heal before I can get back to strength stuff, though.
