In general, I loved flyaway cardigans. They could be dressed up or down, and used as a nursing cover in a pinch. I had a couple of knit vneck/crossover dresses from llbean that worked really well for nursing accesss too that still looked put together.

@Silva: The first few weeks I lived in the same few tops, one was a strechy top that half way snapped down (not a nursing top but it was great for it), a nursing tank, a button down shirt, and a scoop neck top. None were flattering but they all worked.

I highly recommend these wrap dresses from Old Navy, as I'm busty and the wrap is really flattering. I have a long sleeved one and a short sleeve one. Here's the link for the long-sleeve: http://oldnavy.gap.com/browse/product.do?cid=91338&vid=1&pid=251851092

I think if you were to get the black or fushia and then dress it up with some nice jewelry and the right shoes, it would work well for a dinner. I wear them with a lace stretchy tank underneath, so very easy for nursing. I also think it would be pretty forgiving to wear right after you give birth, as you can determine how tight you want it wrapped.

Peplum with a low scoop neck that can be pulled down-- you can get them cheap! In the early days you are feeding so often you want something easy easy easy to move away from the boobs. And peplum is so flattering to the pp tummy!

I haven't got any links for you but I'm looking for a few dresses for myself (LO is 7 weeks) and I'm looking for wrap dresses and shirtdresses. Nice and easy for BFing and flattering. I like the one you posted! Might have to give that a try!

I'm trying to keep busy while I wait impatiently for the baby to make its arrival... help me waste time with online shopping?

so...about a month after the baby comes (could be as early as 3 or 4 weeks- but hopefully not), my husband will be graduating from med school. I know this will be difficult to navigate with a newborn- but I'd like to be able to attend the graduation ceremony, and hopefully at least one of the two dinners he is invited to. I know it will be difficult, but I"m hoping that with the help of in-laws, baby carriers, strollers, pacifiers, my boobs, etc- we'll be able to make it work.

My question is about clothes- I need nice things to wear that are breastfeeding friendly, and good for postpartum bodies.

I'm definitely going to order this dress: http://www.bodenusa.com/en-US/Womens-Dresses/Below-Knee-Dresses/WH504-BLU/Womens-Blue-Lupin-Jersey-Maxi-Dress.html
because I can re-use it for my friend's wedding in June. We are in Vermont, so it won't be super warm out but I figure I'll be fine with a cardigan.

What are some other clothes I can get dressed up in for the dinners that will be comfortable, flattering, and offer easy access for breastfeeding?

Bonus points for links!
