@DesertDreams88: My bio hair is a chin length bob. I put on a wig cap to keep it contained under the wigs. I've bought from wigs.com, cysterwigs.com, wigoutlet.com and wigstudio1.com before. Wigs.com and wigoutlet.com probably had the easiest return policy.

After #2 it never seemed to let up. At my next annual exam blood work showed some deficiencies, particularly vit d. Taking supplements made it so much better. Just a FYI, that after babies our bodies change and it might be more than the regular hair loss. :)

@LCTBQE: I did not lose this much after my second so I don’t know when it ends, but hopefully soon! And yes it is kind of comical how it is stuck on everyone around here. I’ve had a couple kid sick days where I just put it up without combing and the next day ... sooooo much came out. I know it’s normal but come on!

@bhbee: uh, you are not alone  my hair has been coming out in sheets since early December, it is half disheartening and half disgusting how much comes out in the shower or is just stuck to every damn thing in our house. I keep trying to remember how long this went on with my first pregnancy--3 months? 4? do you remember?? hoping it's over soon and we can start growing our weird short patches of baby hair back. as for styling, I switched my part but am otherwise just hanging out, looking like this. Eh. wonder how the rest of our August ladies are doing.

I gave up on my hair about 6 months ago and moved to wigs. I love them- I have perfect hair everyday. The attached picture is me in two different wigs-it literally takes me minutes to "do my hair" now.

@Myicitygirl: Unfortunately not yet :( I'm not sure how much of that is baby hormones or all the other things - being in my 30s, I've started coloring my hair, I never have time to do my hair so it's constantly in a ponytail, etc. Though maybe I should have my thyroid checked too?

My hair kind of falls out everywhere a little and gets all thin. I try to wash it less often, because it's very fine after washing, and clumps into these sad-looking strands. It looks better when I give it a few days between washings.

Also, Burt's Bees avocado butter pre-shampoo is really good for giving it some weight, but I can't find time to use it with a little baby in the house, so... oh well.

@Myicitygirl: yes mine did. Or at least it started to grow back, and then I would have another baby and it would all fall out again. Repeat. Haha.

How many pregnancies did you have? You might want to get your thyroid checked! I just read an interesting study saying many many moms of 3+ kids have under functional thyroids that often times goes undiagnosed because the symptoms get attributed to mothering 3+ kids.

@JennyPenny: @bees_knees: did your hair return to its pre-baby state? Did anything help? I’m 5 years out and I still have bald spots along my temples and my part still looks thin. I can’t wear my hair half up/half down or slick it back into a bun anymore. It’s quite depressing.

@bhbee: Ugh it's so hard. Like you're already feeling blah about your body, short on sleep, hormonal and crazy...and HEY LET'S MAKE YOUR HAIR FALL OUT, TOO!! Thanks, Mother Nature.

I have no tips. It didn't seem to matter what I did, I lost toooons of hair after all 3 babies. Mine was especially bad along my forehead, so the style that @Foodnerd81 posted would not have been flattering. Super annoying for sure!

I found doing a front side braid or twist helped some, as it was growing back in and the front pieces were all short and fly away-y. But depending on where the thinnest parts I guess it could make it worse too. It is sooo annoying! But a bit of hairspray before braiding it or twisting it usually helped.

Recently I switched my part to help hide some PP hairloss and fuzzies. I was especially bare in the front where the part was though - I don't know if that's a common pattern or not.

I’m 6m pp with #3 and the hair loss is killing me this time around. I was hoping for a slow down by now but nope ... thankfully I doubt it’s really noticeable to others (because who is paying attention?) and it’s fairly uniform but it is really making me sad! My hair is so flat/thin and the front hairline is not looking great. I have fine hair (but usually a lot of it) that falls below the shoulder.

I’m taking prenatals for BF and don’t see any signs of thyroid issues so probably have to wait it out. But surely there must be styling techniques/products/tips?

I’m also wondering if I should skip highlighting my roots for a bit. I’m guessing it could use a cut to lighten up the length though.

Thanks for any tips!
