a few weeks. 3-4 Id say. I was an emotional WRECK during that time. Totally normal =o) I thought I had PPD because I was so nutty and my OB told me it was 100% normal those first few weeks

I'm definitely on the watch for it to turn into PPD only because I was diagnosed with a depressive episode earlier in my pregnancy (around month 4), so I'm worried I might be predisposed (is that the right word? so, so tired...)

but the crying over things - is that "normal" hormone changes? I'll keep tabs on it but for instance - she projectile spit up this morning and then cried (for all of 2 minutes) and I sobbed because I felt so bad.

I had PPD but I want to say that things got much better when she was 2-3 months old although I still have issues like hot flashes, shedding and other stuff at 6 months pp. It can take up to a year for your hormones to equalize again.

so I was warned by my nurses that 3 days after delivery and 7-10 days after delivery can both be accompanied by some serious hormone changes.

well, they started yesterday. I sobbed while she nursed because she's already a week old, tried to hellobee when i was bored but couldn't because every thread made me cry, etc etc.

it's definitely not PPD in the way that I resent her or anything like that! more of just the hormonal everything makes me sob type of thing.

but..I would like to be able to fill in her baby book and use hellobee without going through a box of tissues. when do the hormones level off a little??
