DD is 6 months and I still have trouble sleeping sometimes!! (But I had a little trouble falling asleep sometimes before DD too.) The not sleeping was mixed in with the PPD/anxiety problems for me! MIL bought me this recently:
http://www.drugstore.com/products/prod.asp?pid=181652&catid=183081&aid=338666&aparam=goobase_filler
It's helped, but I only take 1 or 1/2 a night if I use it because I don't want to end up not being able to get up when I need to!

Ok, this is bad, but I had terrible insomnia and pain from a tear, so I took 1/2 a percoct on the worst nights and it really helped me fall asleep. I probably could have handled the pain without it but it helped w/ both pain and sleep so I took it.

@tororojo: ack! I hope it resolves for you!!!! I've been having the same issue but I'm still pregnant. Maybe you could take something to help? Maybe just a Tylenol or something would do the trick. How about a warm bath or a cup of tea? DH swears by sleepy time tea :)

tororojo: agree! I stay off all but once a night and usually pick DDs "going to be impossible to get her to sleep again" waking as something to keep me sane, other/most times I just lay in bed trying to sleeeeep.

@Beebug: Ugh, I hope it passes for you as well! And they say computer screens/TV just makes it harder to fall asleep when you do go to bed. So I doubt HB is helping...but it's more entertaining than laying there in bed, being jealous of DH! (is it weird that I'm jealous of his ability to fall asleep?)

I'm with ya, and slowing going crazy. DDs sleep has sucked lately and on top of that, I used to fall asleep in a few moments, now it's an hour/hour and a half and even then that's pushing it to get back to sleep. Try a few relaxation techniques, and I just don't feel tired, not a fan! It sucks and I just lay there seemingly eons after she's gotten back to sleep, need some self soothing techniques of my own, gah. Hope it passes for you soon.

AAAAH I can't sleep anymore! And I can't blame it on the baby crying because she's been sleeping in 3-4 hrsish chunks during the night and DH has offered to listen for feeding cues/crying, as well as change diapers. All I have to do is have my boobs ready every few hours, but I can't turn my brain off! I lay in bed and mind just spins over everything that has happened in the past week. Did anyone else have this problem? Did it resolve itself? By the time I finally get to sleep, it's time for the next feeding. I haven't slept for more than 4 hours a night in a week now, and normally I'm an 8 hour a night girl. WAAAAAH!
