My advice is to have multiples of your bathroom items in each bathroom of your house! So whether you buy or get extras from the hospital, for me its been soooo handy to just have a full set of pads, clean undies, peri bottle, dermaplast and tucks in each of our bathrooms.

Oh another item for the list......exfoliating body wash/scrub for the shower. It really helped get all the sticky tape and monitor residue off me.

For icing, our hospital put ice inside a exam glove, tied off and shoved inside a big pad, lol. I thought it was kind of clever :)

@lovelife: ridiculous is my middle name...so I totally don't mind freezing tea soaked diapers if I have to ;)

@HabesBabe: i'll try this:) I was planning on buying a second bottle of lanolin anyways but instead i'll get this and have both to alternate and test out--Thanks:)

This nipple cream works a lot better than lanolin, IMO.

@TurtleDoves: you make a pot of hot tea... (black If I remember right) and you poor them on diapers and freeze them. You wear them inside your underwear. The caffeine in the tea is suppose to help with the healing process and the cold gives a lot of relief. I know, sounds ridiculous... but they saved my life :)

I literally wrote down everything you ladies mentioned! Anything that will make my life easier after giving birth is going on the list!
And anything the hospital leaves in my possession, I am sure as heck taking home:)

@lovelife: what on earth are these? I want some!

after I gave birth I used frozen tea diapers for a week or so. The hospital gave them to me while I was there and they gave much relief, more than anything else anyway.

I second everything you listed, as well as the giant pads.

Breast/nursing pads. Even if you aren't going to nurse, it'll help to get you through those first few days. I loved lansinoh pads. They didn't leak through like others I tried.

IB profen. That was the only pain med I took after DS was born, but I took it for about 2 weeks straight in the afternoons when I would get really sore.

The hospital gave me all the items you have listed for free (except the dermoplast). Even a really nice belly wrap, so you might look into that before spending $$.

Buy stock in the giant maternity pads! lol
Small snacks to stash around the house (trail mix, granola bars, bottles of water)
An eye mask and ear plugs, lol

So I've heard I'll need:
-Dermoplast
-Stool softener
-Lanolin nipple cream

Anything else I should know?

p.s: And I added a belly wrap in there too in order to keep it all together and hopefully help flatten belly out. Also, I have Tylenol Extra Strength packed.
