Update in case anyone searches later: I wore the (giant) hospital pads/mesh underwear for a couple of days, then switched to Always Infinity Flex Foam Overnights Size 5 with wings. No complaints! I actually haven’t had any leaks at all (don’t worry, wearing cheap hanes granny panties just in case 😂)

I used Depends then the thinnest Always I could find! They were very absorbent! I never used pads in my teens, just tampons, so the ones I remember from my 1st period back in 1996 (!) were HUGE lol. Science has come a far ways!

@bees_knees: So here's what I did with my second: I bought a box of Depends (they feel so light!) and used them with pads at the very beginning as there was too much bleeding. The best part was that I didn't have to worry about getting any blood on my underwear and would just toss them when I bled through. A few days later, I would just wear the depends with no pads and then, when it had really slowed down, I used just pads. It worked perfectly!

I wore depends! They felt much more like underwear - no bulk between your legs. I recommend this to every new mom now. In fact its usually part of my baby shower gift :)

I've always had heavy periods so I'm no stranger to thick/overnight/extra absorbance pads haha. I think for me they just need the adhesive wings, otherwise they tend to slide around and leak. But I def start out with the Depends diapers. Annoying to wear but probably gives me the best peace of mind.

And I totally feel you about not remember things! Having my 3rd soon and sometimes I'm still like wait what?? :silly:

Another vote for Always Infinity. I bought a box of overnights and a box of supers and had leftovers of both, because after a couple days I switched to regular absorbency and used those till the bleeding stopped.

Always infinity is what I remember liking. Thanks overnight ones were extra long & absorbent without being puffy & without making diaper noises when you walk.

As someone who bled for months due to a postpartum complication with my second, I started out wearing a depends-like brief I could toss out and then switched over to seventh generation organic pads. They felt way less yucky to me.

I started out with the thick overnight (kinda diaper like) ones because I have major leak anxiety with pads. But I went to the ultra thins after a while and those worked great. I just always got really long ones with wings. Even the super ones are so much more comfortable these days....and I’ll donate whatever I don’t use to a friend who is due next

You guys, this is my FOURTH BABY. So why do I not remember what kind of postpartum pads I like? I remember always infinity...but now it looks like they come in sizes? I’m so confused 🤣 What have you used that doesn’t feel like a diaper but actually works?!
