@littlebug: I had second degree tears too. I don't think I attempted kegels until things started to feel better down there. I wouldn't even touch where I tore when I wiped. I loved my peri bottle so much. I'd wait a little longer to do Kegels to it some more healing time. At 5 months pp, my tears are feeling healed as in not hurting when we have sex. I had a 14 hour labor with about an hour of pushing.

Yeah, I had some pee issues for a few weeks postpartum... I was leaking after going! I had a similar birth too, 22 hrs, 5 hrs pushing, 2nd degree tears. I also couldn't do kegals for a while. It will get better!

Phew! Thanks, ladies! Knowing that others had it this badly makes me feel so much better. I am trying to train myself to just go to the bathroom every hour or two, whether I need to or not. Hopefully I'll regain (better) control in a few days or so. If it doesn't improve soon, I'll call the OB.

I had NO control for a few days PP. The minute I would stand up to go to the bathroom, it'd come gushing out. What you're going through is totally normal -- just keep those pads in!

I had this for a week post partum. One time in the middle of the night I fed LO and then I was washing my hands and the second my hand touched the warm water I peed allllllll over myself. Now at 8w pp I definitely need to pull my pants down quickly once I get into the bathroom but other than that I don't have issues.

@BabyBoecksMom @sloaneandpuffy: thank you for saying this and making me feel normal! I couldn't do the 30 Day Shred for the longest time because of the jumping jacks and it would really piss me off when that Jillian would say that "even 400lb people can do jumping jacks, so no excuses". Really?

I am 7 w pp and don't have leaking except when I have a full bladder and sneeze or don't get to the restroom quickly enough. No more steel bladder. :( The leaking you are describing sounds sucky though... I hope that gets better for you soon!!!

totally normal!!! I was that way for about the first week. I had a hard labor and afterward they put in a catheter, that only made it worse I think. Everytime I stood up there was an accident. I had to double up depends adult diapers AND big pads. It was awful and embarrassing. I started to have a little bit more control after a week, and gradually it got better. Almost a year post-partum and I still have tiny leaks sneezing, physical activity, or when I have to go to the bathroom really bad,

No episiotomy, but 2nd degree tears - I have 4 stitches. Still very swollen and sore, and am trying to do Kegals, but it hurts and I honestly can't even tell if I'm doing them right, cuz I'm so swollen.

Jumping jacks are rough for me or jumping up & down in general. I do a million kegels a day but if I gave a full bladder & jump, I'm in trouble!
Did you have an episiotomy? I had a huge one and have some nerve damage. My OB suggested physical therapy but I'm too embarrassed to call.

I would definitely talk to your ob. I used to sniss (piss when I sneezed) while I was pregnant but it stopped post baby. When I mentioned peeing to my ob he said he could surgically fix it for me if I continued to have this problem and once I was done having babies.

Ok, so I definitely read about postpartum urinary incontinence, and planned to have some leaking with laughing, coughing, etc. But I am having full-on, peeing-myself accidents. If I wasn't wearing pads still for all that other postpartum loveliness, I'd be super embarrassed! I'm 4 days pp, and have zero control. ,Anyone else experience it this badly? I labored for 27 hours, pushed for 3 hours (if that matters). I just want to know if I should be concerned enough to call my doctor, or if this is just another one of those things that no one tells you about pregnancy?
