I've tried a cup twice (once was a diva, not sure the second- moon maybe?), and I wanted SO badly to love it. But I just couldn't use one. I found it hard to put in and painful to get out, and it never, ever sat where I couldn't feel it. It would wind up so low it felt like it was bulging out, no matter how hard I tried to get it higher. I never was able to use a nuvaring either, so maybe I'm just weird. I use cloth pads now, and I do love them.

@Mrs. Goose: Mine is actually a Mooncup and I never knew there was a special wash until recently. You can just rinse it when you change it and then boil it between cycles. I haven't got my period yet postpartum but before pregnancy I only had to change it once a day. I sometimes changed it twice but it was never full. I did have light periods though. At work I just wipe it well with tp and pop it back in, which is totally safe to do, you just have to wash your hands with soap before changing it which you would do anyway! I recommend it so much :)

@LovelyPlum: @kitty: did you buy the special wash to clean it? How often do you find you need to change it? Also, what about when you are out for the day or at work and need to change it in the washroom? I assume you need to rinse it out before putting it back in?

I'm thinking about trying it out in the future.

I love my cup! It's more comfortable and now I find tampons weird and dry and scratchy. It's so good not having to carry spare tampons because your cup is already right there.

@sorrycharlie: @avivoca: I use and love mine! It is much more comfortable than tampons ever were. Also, I find I clot a lot more PP, so it is super useful for that.

Supposedly they last about 10 years. I want to try one. I use cloth pads some and I like them, but it's a lot of fabric and I feel like I'm wearing a huge diaper.

Let's talk postpartum periods. All the tampon talk got me wondering.. I haven't been able to use tampon since pre-DD1! Just ouch.

I've heard good things about the divacup but didn't expect it to be $25+. Is it worth the cost? I'm thinking it would pay for itself in about 5 months (cost of pads..) but how long do they "last"?
