@Becky: what a kind sister in law you are! Just had my third section in sept and would second many of the things already suggested. Definitely a robe, soft pants and some high wasted undies!

@crazydoglady: I could add that to the list. I used my kindle allll the time while nursing so that was my thought there!

Just had my first and only csection about a month ago. High waist everything. Motrin/Tylenol. Belly wrap. Everything else is probably standard postpartum stuff...

@Becky: I would actually prefer an audible gift card (if they make it,) my babies never let me put them down!

@JennyPenny: Great tips! She’s not someone to buy herself nice clothing (she’s more likely to grab an old sweatshirt) so this would be nice. I’ll add Gas-X to the list too!

@ttcgirl: I was thinking a Kindle too. She’s an English teacher and reads a lot and doesn’t have one!

I was going to suggest high waisted comfy pants and a lightweight robe or cardigan also if you feel comfortable shopping for clothing.

If you feel comfortable giving this, Gas-x was my favorite thing after my c-sections!! The gas pains were so real.

Maybe a comfy lightweight robe or open cardigan. I liked having something around I could throw on to cover up if people came over since I wasn’t supposed to be going up and down the stairs to my bedroom.

A good water bottle.

If you’re looking for something bigger I also found a kindle to be a postpartum must have.

I liked having these: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B002VK977O/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_T-StEbJJ9Z17G It felt like extra protection after I was done with all the hospital bandaging, regardless of whether it helps scars or not. Clothing-wise, high waisted lounge pants and undies were key!

My SIL is having a C-section in April and I'd like to put together a postpartum recovery/welcome home kit, from myself and some friends/family. This is her second girl, and she has all of the baby things she needs.

We will definitely include an Instacart Express membership as she would use this weekly and really appreciate it. I'm also going to ask our friend who's a professional baker to do a batch of lactation cookies (she sells them occasionally). She already has a lot of freezer meals planned out so won't need any of that.

Are there any specific things that made your C-section recovery easier/more comfortable? Like OTC meds, creams, teas, etc? Any specific clothes that were really nice to have (it's still usually pretty chilly here in April-early May)?
